So the series four ideas are currently being thrown around and some storylines are being written at the moment. However series 3 brought a lot of mixed views to the table so we’re throwing this post open to see what you liked about this series, what you didn’t and what you’d have changed in the organisation/layout of the overall story and each character’s own personal development?
We’re not going to approve posts that just say shit like “ZOMG I LUVD EFFY CAUSE HER FASHION WAS AMAZING!”, we’re looking for interesting, thought provoking views.
It’s also worth mentioning that I know for a fact the Skins cast and crew do read this blog so who knows, maybe something you write may be implemented

Defiinitely ditch the stupid love triangle..Freddie & Effy DO NOT work, she & Cook work better BUT I’d like to see Effy get with someone outside of the group tbh. Freddie was far more exciting in the first episode compared to the rest of the series when he was pining after Effy, ditch the pining & put him back to how he was.
More Katie this series, we need to see her more vulnerable side & I’d like to see Emily being the stronger twin, looking out for her sister & the same goes for Katie, more twins stick together when they need to
I Did Like series 3, alot, especially the naomi and emily storyline, and i think from what ive seen online, they were the most popular.
i dont know though, i found the end of series 3, EXTREMELY disappointing, i was expecting a season finale, not something that would have ended a series 5 episode or something like that, the last two series had a car accident which seriously injured the main character, and a pregnancy, and a death of a parent, and a death of a main cast member. they were ended wonderfully.
i think series 3 was scraping the most it could out of teenage situations, because really, everythings been done, so if something is repeated, the crew become worried that the audience at home will be thinking its the same as the last series.
I reckon in series 4 there should definately be some more well thought up scenarios, more emotive possibly, and discovering more about what makes the characters tick, i think there definately should be somethink to make the series bang,
something like the fact that Effy should be in juvenille prison for the start of the series aha, because technically when she comes back home, she should be arrested for the whole hitting katie in the head with a rock thing, the twins mother said “i hope they lock that stonem girl up when they find her” so i think the writers should put that in

Although I think Luke is a good actor, I absolutely dislike the character Freddie. In his episode, we learned important stuff about him – his mother was dead, he didn’t always get along with his father/sister/friends, he was in love with a complicated girl, and he did a lot of drugs to escape – but I didn’t *feel* anything for him. Freddie is just not a genuine character, and unless they drastically improve his storyline, I would be happy seeing less of him. Unfortunately, I don’t have any suggestions on how to improve his character, but I really hope they change something about him.
Cook, JJ, Naomi, and Emily all had strong character development, which is probably why they are my favorite characters. Pandora and Thomas were interesting, but they had so little screen time after their initial episodes that I felt myself becoming disinterested in their characters. Effy is not nearly as likable as she was in Series 1 and 2. Katie seems to be a bit on the crazy side at times, and as much as I dislike her character, I think it would be interesting if they expanded upon that and showed her as a completely disturbed/confused character.
Really cant wait for the new season. I thought that the whole Effy hitting Katie thing was a bit pointless and never seemed to go anywhere so id like to see Katie trying to get revenge somehow, maybe seeing Freddie and Effy together and getting jealous? who knows. Id like to see some sort of rivalry between Thomas and Cook. We didnt really see a great deal of Thomas in Season 3 so would be interested to see more from his charecter.
more depth to friendships y’kno like effy/naomi..etc just because there wasnt much of that in the 3rd series. It would be nice to see such friendships developing throughout the next series
I think more people should be added to the group, I know theres already 9 of them but I think (like above) they should ditch the silly love triangle, Cook Effy and Freddie should all find someone for themselves instead of Cook and Freddie fighting over her and JJ stuck in the middle. I’m getting annoyed with the hole Emily & Naomi thing aswell, Naomi either wants her of she doesn’t? they either have a ‘fling’ and then Naomi doesn’t wanna know Emily or Naomi and Emily are happy together? it confuses me alot? and last but not least, Another girl definatley needs to be added to the group for JJ, i love JJ and by adding another girl it would make a really good couple I wreckon?
I agree with ditching the love triangle thing, I found it so… Conventional. I think for the new series there should be one clear plot with fewer of the characters instead of how it was this series where everyone just had to have a big story. The first two series felt much more solid in terms of the story flow, because Tony was a strong enough character for everyone to revolve around.
This series, Effy was pushed too far aside, I felt. She wasn’t given enough room to really grow. She still feels unknown to me, and not in the good way. It felt as though the series tried so hard to flesh out everyone else as lovable and relatable that they forgot about the main person in the whole lot – lil miss amazing fashion. Haha.
There needs to be alot more darkness in series 4 I think, like Effy’s episode! It was so full of different emotions and left me gob-smacked when Effy hit Katie over the head with a rock.
We also need to learn more about and see more of Thomas, and perhaps Katie aswell because she didn’t play that big apart, yet her Emily did.
I’d like to see Emily having arguments with her parents over her sexuality and Noami telling her mother she is gay/bisexual.
I think we should get to know more about Cooks parents. We’ve seen his Dad but we havn’t really heard anything about his mother. We also need to see a more vernurable Cook like we did in the season finale
Also, Effy and Freddie shouldn’t be together. They’re just not good together. Freddie has became boring as the series progressed, so I think you guys need to make him more fun again like he was in the 1st episode.
I’d also love to see more of Karen next season too. She was great.
Overall I liked series 3 because, frankly, it’s better than everything else on TV(I live in America). With that said I prefer series 1 & 2 over 3 because I felt that the first two series were more truthful. I tried not to compare the different casts because I knew I’d be partial towards the first cast , however, I just found a lot of things about series 3 a little too eccentric. Like it tried too hard to make the new cast members drastically different from the first. Everything felt like a shtick or a plot device and humor for the sake of humor done over and over again no longer become humorous.
For example, Cook’s episode was very cliche with the party and the music and while I can tell it was intentional, I just didn’t enjoy the episode. Which may also be said for episodes 1, 8, and 10. My favorite episodes are Thomas and Freddie’s because I felt I adequately gained insight into those two characters. Whereas Effy’s episode ,in particular, is a miss for me because I felt like I needed more information and too much happened; it felt rushed.
Series 4 should keep it simple and focus on the characters first and then let the plot fall into place. I agree with Crystal about the love triangle being problematic. The scenario drove the characters instead of the other way around. I love skins I won’t stop watching. We need more people to watch Skins in the US !
Agree with Crystal about the whole Katie thing, would love to see more done with her character
as I felt we only got to see a little of her vulnerable side during the season, mabye a somewhat healthy relationship with someone not so deuch like, she has to find out who she is w/out her sister. With Naomi and Emily, for now let there relationship work, but put a few bumps in the road for them to test there budding romance(mabye some temptation for Emily?) would be well advised. With JJ after all the crap he’s been thru he deserves a little loving so please set him up with someone, ANYONE!! and if this season is gonna be darker than the previous a mental breakdown for him would be interesting.For Panda and Effy’s friendship (which has been thru alot) let them heal it slowly(but then they are going to uni soon so it might be too late?). Thomas is the same way i feel about Katie in terms of me not knowing alot about him (things i know: likes donuts, loves Panda, is from the Congo), he’s been so innocent so far so mabye making him a bit of a bad boy would be good. For Cook, let him still be the cookie monster but let his nice James side out a bit more and have him resolve any issues are wrongdoings he’s done in the past (also what happened to his mother?). Thats all I can think of.
I do not feel anything for this series.Im so disappointed as to how it turned out.Storyline?What storyline.Series 1 & 2 were amazing and the actors portayed their charcaters perfectly,each episode left you counting the days till the next and the final few episodes in series 2 were emotional.It was always gonig to be difficult task for the new cast to match the standards set and as expected both writer and actor alike failed to do so.Firstly,wtf was with the chav(Cook).He alone ruined the whole series for me.He is self centred in a bad way(not like tony),and justs wants to drink,fight aand have sex with anyone.Despite the fact that this is basically what happened in the original skins this time it felt wrong.To improve series 4 Cook must go.Secondly i no Bristol is a big place but why dont the cast hang out in any of the places the others used to go,like college park for instance.In series 3 it almost seems like they all moved to the countryside where nothing is ever happening and they go to lcal pubs and whats whit the college , because i can guarantee you that aint the college that Tony and co attended.I would have prefered if they ended skins after series 2 because it was not supposed to change.The original cast took skins and made it their own.So for series 4 either cancel it or replace the cast and start afresh fresh afresh.I felt close to the characters in series 1 & 2.As if they were my own friends,I cant even relate to the new guys in any way whatsoever.
I really liked how in this series they included issues to do with people sexuality, like the relationship between emily and naomi, it was really good because it wasnt just about them being gay it showed how difficult it was for them to tell people. I would really like to see more of this in the next skins but to also include different personal issues aswell

No I joke, in serie 4, I would love to see Katie more in screen, because I think she has a great potential, at the beginning of the next serie I want her to have fun, and do whatever she wants then I would love her to fall in love with a guy who won’t cheat on her this time, a guy who is her opposite, a nice guy (but I’ve to say that I quite love her with Freddie, but she probably won’t trust him anymore) , then I want that JJ find a girl just like him, a girl who love mathematics and stuffs like that. After I really want Effy and Cook back together, because I think they’ve more chemistry than Effy and Freddie. Thomas and Pandora must stay together or at least they should make Thomas fall for another girl. And now we have got the Naomily, don’t get me wrong I love them together but I think if they stay together there will be no dynamics, so that’s why I would love to see Emily someone who she thinks it’s a guy but in fact it’s a transsexual (I know it’s weird but it could be interesting to watch) and then she will be confused about a sexuality, or maybe a love triangle, who will include a guy, we all know that Naomi is not clearly gay like she said to Emily in the episode 9.

i think there should be a guy that naomi falls for and leaves emily for him but later on in the series she finds out that he has actually been useing her and she realises that shes made a big mistake and trys to get back with emily but she rejects her. and i think jj and effy should get together because then jj will be the top dog.
To be honest I am not sure what else they could do, it needs to be about real life situations, I thought that love triangle storyline really didn’t work. I thought the acting by the college staff was way over the top and just so not real. Tackle some real issues beyond sexuality, issues that effect decisions they make, why not tackle something about knifes and gun crime and how this effects everyone. How people should take responsibility for things!
Also might be interesting to bring back 1 or 2 of the cast from series 1 and 2 and see how they interact with the new cast!
It depends how many more episodes there are going to be.. Because some storylines need more work than others. I agree that the love triangle needs to be gotten rid of.. because it got a little bit over the top TBH. Im not bothered what happens though, as longs as its different and keeps me wanting to watch

also, there seemed to be no development of the friendship between the group this series (except the drawn-out drama between freddie, cook, and jj). It was strange to see them hang out as they seemed to not even get along/know each other. I know they had just met, but it was if they were a random jumble of kids in the the same grade forced to become friends…
More secrets. We barely know them. Which means they have lots of secrets in the past. Lots of things we don’t know about them and it’d be cool to have them have huge and provoking secrets.
I also don’t like that effy might be in a relationship. Effy is Effy, she has sex with random people and so what?? Does she really need to be in a relationship?
What would make us ALL feel more comfortable with this new cast (not that we aren’t already) is a little more reference to the old cast. I know they were already too old but that doesn’t mean we have to forget them.
What happened to PANDORA? Is she still friends with effy? huh? You can’t let things like this die. One episode they hate each other, the other episode they’re in good speaking terms.
I just hope that Season 4 will not be to S3 what S2 was to S1. That is – a total soap opera with everyone ditching everyone else and hooking up with everyotherone else. It was crap in S2 and it will be crap in S4. that’s not character development and it’s not more dramatic. It just feels like the screenwriters had a very hard writer’s block.
As for story-lines, I disagree that the triangle was a bad idea, but I think it ran its course and it shouldnt’ be at the center of S4. I think that the Freddie character turned out less-than-ok as well though. He had a potential to be the “Maxxie” one – the normal stable and reliable character amidst a sea of teen problems. Instead he turned into – as aptly put in his own episode – an angsty little prick.
What I REALLY didn’t like about S3 was that none of the characters had any purpose in life. Compare it with the previous cast. We had Maxxie and his dancing, Jal and her music, Tony and his general ambition to become king of the universe. Here there was NOTHING. They all led pointless self-centered existences with the one exception of JJ (my favourite character by far) who lived for his mother and his friends, but still lacked any drive to do something with his life.
That said, I don’t really know what I’d like to see in S4. I think it would be a fresh change if something outside the group unites them. And not ANOTHER small-time criminal, but a bigger problem, perhaps something to do with the city itself or some such.
Also, something a little bit off-topic, but I need to say it. The JJ episode in S3 was amazing! It was vastly different than anything else in this season. I loved the choice of music (I think it set a very deep tone for the episode) and I also loved how he grew a spine. I would love to see more episodes like this one.
I have an idea for a character, a really poor girl named Amy who had to move to Bristol because her mum was in trouble with some gangsters back home when Amy was 7.
Her mum is a heavy drug user, switching from different glass As but mainly heroin. She has violent mood swings and takes them out on Amy, who eventually has enough and runs away for the 5th time, but this time she’s staying away.
I have this idea that maybe she could be sleeping in a phone box and Thomas finds her, being the kind guy that he is, takes her in. Pandora gets jealous but Amy has a soft spot for Emily after meeting her at another of Thomas’s crazy parties, however Emily and Naomi are going strong.
After a long drunken talk, Amy reveals that her mum is a roman catholic, not that she sticks to it much mind, however the fact that Amy isn’t 100% straight fires off her mum’s mood swings, as Amy repeatedly throws back the scumbag boys her mum brings home from the pub for her.
I think showing the poorer side of british kids is a good idea and somehow think Amy is a good portrayal of a lower working class girl who just wants to be seen as more than that.
From reading other peoples views, i’ve noticed that the majority of people are mentioning the love triangle between Cook, Freddie, and Effy. The story line did go down well, but i have to agree that i did take up too much space. Maybe carry it on slightly for the next series, but break it down a bit.
I think something that would go down well is JJ becoming even more rebellious, as his charector could create so many decent story lines. Maybe bring in JJ’s dad (who cook said was a twat in the ‘last bus’ story) and his dad – who im going to call John at the moment, should beat JJ up (which would fit in nicely for the fact that JJ’s mum likes to drink, so we could say that the only reason she’s become an alcoholic, is because of John) JJ should have enough of the fighting between him and his father, and because JJ has mental issues, he should rage out at his father, and end up Severely hurting him, or perhaps killing him. That would add up the tention for the last episode.
also, something that would add a twist to the last episode, is cook and a new charector falling in love. as we all know, Cook has now been ditched by his ex- girlfriend, Effy. And we dont want to see Cook pouring his eyes out over her any more than nessarary do we ? So i thought, why not bring in someone who has had the same sort of up bringing as him… They both have no proper home, or family.
The twist could be that they get together, have a laugh, and end up being really close, but they’re soon to find out that they’re actually related. yeah i know it seems a bit too far fetched, but thats what we want to see, and thats what we expect from skins…
i really DONT want them to partner everyone [or most] of them up by then end of series 4
there a gang of teenagers, so what are the chances of them all being with someone. I would HATE to see Katie and Cook together. I do want to see more of Katie. I love the idea of Naomi falling for another guy, because its nice that it finished all perfect for them two but i do want to see more of it in series 4. yeah and just bigger storylines and an amazing finale!
yeh i derfinatley agrre with the people who said less love triangles! most of the storylines were to do with love like emily and naomi, the whole cook, effy, freddie thing and the thing that happened between pandora and thomas. also what happened to the house parties! there wsaasnt many! I say definatlkey add more house parties! i think that series 3 was sooo funny so definatley keep the humour!:D
i also think that the characters and the storylines need to be more realistic because the good thing about series 1 and 2 was that you could relate to the characters but in series 3 you couldnt really. I also have an idea for a character. It is kind of similar to maxxie but bare with me. There this girl called randa, she is a happy and bouncy girl but she is undecided on what she wants to do with her life, she has made her subject choices but is not entirely happy and she is constantly trying to change the subjects she takes but changes her mind again. She also gets quite obsessed by things such as films, songs and actors/actresses. For example one day she will be obseessed with some random film and she’ll be acting out scenes from it and researching the background of the film e.t.c. The next minute she’ll be snging a song constantly annoying everyone around her. She is multi -talented but she cant decide whether she wants to act, sing or dance.
You could thik of a stroyline for her such as she takes some pills and has a breakdown somesort of illness could make her forget all the information that was in her head and she loses her talents!

If the writers want Series 4 to be good, then they have to bring effy’s character back in line, enough of this love triangle crap, i’ve had enough of watching effy become some fragile, little person with no confidence, thats not the Effy i love, now that she’s got the man she wants, she can go back to her original self, i miss the effy that was completely in control of surroundings and the people that looked up to her, and the way that she was up for anything, and her sheer independence, and for God’s sake Brian Eilsey the love triangle doesn’t work, i hated the way it dominated the whole series, it just wasn’t that interesting, To start off i could deal with Freddie, in episode 1 his character came across as the cool one, but towards the end he just came across as some lovesick puppy pining for someone he couldn’t have, and the way Cook was portrayed, was just crap, Towards the end I definitely started to like JJ, and for series 4 i think the writers need to explore the depth of his character, and also the depth of his condition, as i think that be something really interesting to see, and it would definitely raise awareness for autism or asperger’s syndrome, JJ definitely needs more screen time thats for sure.
And the Same goes for Pandora, Thomas and Katie, Pandora is definitely one of my favorite characters in the whole of skins, the first time i saw her in Series 2, Even though most people found her annoying, i Thought she was bloody hilarious, but somewhere along the line the writers sight of her character and she got pushed to the Background, even her own episode barely focused on her, i think the writers have barely scratched the surface of her, so hopefully the writers will manage to explore her character a bit more in Series 4. And the same applies for Thomas, after episode 3 he was barely mentioned, which i found really annoying, as his episode really reminded me of Series 1 and 2, in Series 4 the writers should explore why thomas moved from Congo, as that certainly hasn’t been mentioned before in any similar way, And then there’s Katie, Although after episode 8 it seemed that katie was basically a total bitch, after episode 9 the writers showed her vulnerable side, I think katie just needs more screen time, although she might need her own episode for this, which could ruin the “twin” concept.
Which brings me on to Emily and Naomi, this was by far and away was the standout in Series 3, it was the only thing that stopped it from generally rubbish, Its hard to say where their relationship can go, some of the ideas posted already sound ok, i think if naomi fell for a boy, (maybe cook or freddie, or even a new character, i dont know), and started sleeping with him behind Emily’s back, and then if emily were to find out, she would be heartbroken, could run away, and naomi, releasing her mistake, goes looking for her. I think naomi needs to confront her sexuality, it doesn’t matter whether she’s gay or bi, she just has to come to terms with it, also, i think it would be little interesting if Naomi’s dad were to come back into her life, and for Emily, I think it would be important for the writers to develop her character, i dont want her ending up like that sex crazed girl form Sugar Rush, and also the writers need to show Emily coming out to Parents, As they are obviously Homophobic.
And as for a new character, if they do create and introduce someone new, its imperitive that it hasn’t been done before, and is completely different to the current and old cast, otherwise it would just be a waste of time.
I would be happy with pretty much any storylines for any of the characters so long as Emily and Naomi don’t break up (or almost break-up) over a guy. After writing such a positive, well-developed lesbian storyline i think it would be both foolish and a slap in the face to the gay community to destroy it in such a manner. Positive portrayals of gay relationships are very important and can really help people who are struggling to come to terms with their sexuality. I’d be most unimpressed if they decided to ruin their good work with the introduction of a male antagonist as it re-inforces the myth that lesbianism is either not a happy ending in itself or is only a temporary phase that some people go through before entering into a “real” straight relationship.
Also i agree with the majority that Effy and Freddy should not be together. I never really understood why they “loved” each other in the first place. They never seemed to interact much except to look at each other across crowded rooms. How do you know you love someone through a look across a crowded room?! Naomi and Emily’s relationship was far more realistically developed and portrayed, which again is why i think they should stay together – They’ve already been through a lot of getting to know each other and have decided they are genuinely in love so why break them up. Some relationships do actually last!
Unlike the first two series, I did not really feel connected to the characters in series 3. There seemed to be a lot of loose ends, parts left out, and unanswered questions jumping from episode to episode. I definitely agree with ditching the love triangle and that Effy and Freddie do not work. How were they even “in love” last series? We did not get to see that developing at all. I also think that Emily and Naomi’s relationship should not play such a large part in series 4. I would like to see more of Katie and Thomas and a normal JJ, an interesting background for Cook, and less of Freddie. Cook seemed to be the most interesting out of the group, in my opinion; he isn’t boring like Freddie. Luke Pasqualino is good looking, but I and probably many others could care less if his character were to fall off of a bridge, so make us care this series. Try to get Effy back to how she was in the first two series, if that is even possible now. She doesn’t need to stay with the group all of the time? The person above me who said something about each character having their “thing” is right. Okay, so Freddie has skateboarding…and that is it for the rest of the cast? Include more parties as well and leave out gangster/trouble making people like Johnny White. I also have to second whoever said that this series seemed to scrape what it could from teenage situations..certainly there is a lot more people around my age are going through.

Hmm… What I liked the most in series 3 was Freddie and Effy! It’s really interesting to see Effy falling apart and in love with Freddie, cause she is such a strong character and you don’t expect to see her opening herself to someone… Now I can’t wait to see how Effy and Freddie’s relarionship will develop… I love both Naomi and Emily, but their romance was kinda whatever for me.. I was really bored in their episodes… JJ should get a bigger part, he’s such an awesome character! And less Cook, please! He’s retarded and I hate the way he threats Freddie and JJ!
Freddie and Effy could never work, Effy just becomes such a bad character when she’s with him.
I’m a big Effy fan since the first series. and up untill the very last episodes I hated the triangle, I just wanted her alone and back to who she was. But Cook & Effy won me over at the end, Their interactions (being just sex or something bigger and deeper like on the finale) never feel out of character, It doesn’t feel forced or cliché.
Other than that, I’d like to see more Friendship. Cook and JJ are a huge fan favorite and need more time, and so do Effy and Pandora… as well as creatig more friendships that weren’t pre-stablished

I think seeing Effy in a relationship would be interesting, I don’t know why some people only like her when she’s putting up the front of “ooh I’m so fit and mysterious” like JJ said. Nobody is really like that, detached from all emotion and only into doing crazy~ things because hello, real people have a whole range of emotion and aren’t one-note. So obviously when she became central in series 3 rather than just background they couldn’t keep up that mask of her just being this otherworldly caricature rather than a multi-layered character. That said, I agree the love triangle was overdone. It was too big a plot when we should’ve seen more of Effy in relation to her friendship with Pandora and maybe even with her parents than just with Freddie and Cook.
I do think Effy and Freddie should stay together though, because hopefully she’d bring out a more fun, partying side to him and he seems reliable enough to give her the stability she’s craved since her brother left and parents separated. Then she could go back to being awesomely self-assured and go around fixing everyone else’s messes like in series 2. Plus, Effy and Karen need some scenes together, I feel like they would be gold together, and if Effy dates Freddie that could actually happen.
I also like Naomily but it’d be a shame if they turned into the love triangle of series 4 in terms of overkill screentime because of online popularity. And I hope the writers don’t give them a bunch of dumb obstacles to keep them breaking up and then making up all season just because they can’t figure out what else to do with them. There’s still lots to be explored there without making one of them cheat on the other for the sake of drama, for example.
In general, I think the writers just need to balance storylines better. Thomas (who is awesome and needs screentime, wayyyy more screentime) and Katie definitely need development, Pandora needs something do (and not just something nonsensical like cheat on Thomas with Cook for shock value and then no explanation) and people need to interact more outside of their little cliques (JJ/Cook/Freddie and Katie/Emily/Naomi) because there were lots of potential friendships that never got explored properly (Naomi/Effy, JJ/Emily, maybe Naomi/Freddie, Effy/Katie (more so frenemies that friends, but still this dynamic was great, and will be even more awesome now that one assaulted the other with a rock), Thomas/Cook (Thomas probably hates him, no? That should be resolved), Thomas/EVERYbody etc). More focus on friendships than just the relationship drama would be great.
Also I’d like to see JJ have a plot of his own rather than just serve as a plot device to blurt out info that moves other characters’ storylines along when he’s “locked on”. JJ/Effy is another friendship they should expand, too.
I need Cook/Effy to HOOK UP and stay together and for Effy to realize her sick obsession with Freddie is just that…a fantasy. Cook is way better matched up for Effy and once they both get over their issues as persons they make a much more suitable match than Freddie/Effy. I HATE Freddie and the only way to make him likeable for me is to pair him up with Katie, since he wronged her so bad this series and has to make up for it.
I love Naomi and Emily, so they should continue to be awesome!
Plain and simple: Fred and Eff!
I will never understand what’s so boring about Freddie with the entirety of his episode melded with so much depth and subtlety that is rarely found in any of this season’s episode. At the same time, should Effy be sued for actually wanting to be in a relationship? I think not; she grew up and changed her perspective. Take it or leave it.
I find characters that are too loud VERY annoying. And I never buy pity parties. *coughCookcough*
I love Skins but it is abit rushed. Maybe things being more elaborated as they go would do the trick
I really enjoyed this series. More so than the others in fact. I thought the character backgrounds were more interesting and the dynamic was a lot better. I’d like to see more of the Trio (Freds/Cook/JJ) storyline because they’re really good together. The twins were very cool and Panda was adorable.
I wouldn’t want to change anything about this series’ storyline, because I thought it was a great one; but perhaps more on Cook and Freddie would be nice. There seems to be a lot of unspoken but heavily hinted backstory to them.
Also the Effy/Tony relationship on the Unseen was nice. As siblings I love that they’re close.
FRED and EFF are soulmates! Cook lovers need to learn how to not be sore loosers! it’s not a good look!
I loved series three even though many things upset me. For the most part I loved all the characters and actors, a lot of what happened was right. The triangle was the worst part and Effy’s OOC relationship with Freddie was frustrating. I feel like Freddie as the good guy was shoved down my throat when he really was a uninteresting, uncomplicated character who just doesn’t have a fully functioning brain. The thing with the Freddie/Effy relationship is, it’s not right and it doesn’t fit. The only way I think it would make sense if it’s just a build up for next series, where Effy’s worked through her issues with love and misunderstandings about people to see she can be herself and be loved. Her and Cook are right together, they can be themselves while growing up and discovering what love and a relationship is, realistically.
Cook was the most interesting character and although I wish we could have seen more of his background, more of his inside, it makes sense that he was created as this guarded character with a big persona/wall.
I think my biggest critique was the triangle, for the reasons i stated and because it took so much attention away from other characters. Fandom wise Naomi/Emily are the biggest favorite, but the triangle really took over the show. The show was pushing it, it was very forced. Katie was barely used except as a toy for the triangle plot, Pandora was easily forgotten or turned into a joke. Thomas was just there to smile and give Pandora her happy ending. JJ wouldn’t have gotten as much time as he did if he wasn’t the middleman smoothing everything over in order to make the triangle last so long.

Naomi & Emily were great characters and are a great relationship, but I don’t think they’re gods gift to television like many do. My worry for series 4 is it becoming the Naomily show. Skins had a bit of a balancing problem this series with the triangle and everyone else. I don’t want to see it happen again with another storyline. I love Naomily, but too much of one thing to gain and keep viewers isn’t what skins is about.
I wanna see other problems between Naomi/Emily couple but after I wanna them resolved cause they’re so cute together.
I wanna see more about Effy’s character and a new side of Cook and I want Freddie to find the girl for him, which is not Effy in my opinion and maybe JJ can have a relationship weird like him…
And it would be nice to have a cameo of someone from the old gang!
Oh and I want more action too, especially in the last episodes!
I think that series 3 of skins was brilliant what I think should happen is to dump the love triangle maybe Effy should have a love interest outside the triangle which would be brilliant. Emily and Naomi you should keep the relationship going but maybe test their relationship like temptation to kiss other new characters or even better maybe you could base their story on Romeo and Juliet and the two family’s not getting on with one another all ending in tragedy but in my opinion not in tragedy please. Love skins and I hope this helps you.
Cook/Effy are the way to go in series 4, they have such an interesting relationship that could be viewed from so many angles (plus Jack and Kaya are easily the two best actors in the show) and I hated F/E because of the whole bad teen movie love at first sight forever and ever cliche that they were shoving down our throats, SO not Skins at all. I’d also like to see more of Katie as I was hoping by the end of Season 3 we’d have seen another side to her, and although we were offered a very very small amount of that in Episode 9, she basically reverted back to her normal self by the end. I think that Naomi and Emily should get more focus as characters and their backgrounds instead of always having to do will-they-won’t-they angst and just let them be happy for a while. I hope JJ, Cook and Freddie will become a group of best buds again without one of them ditching years of friendship for a girl he’s spoken to less than 5 times (Freddie I’m looking at you) Pandora and Thomas, I don’t really know, I was pretty happy with their stories, I hope they stay together I suppose. Oh and I hope there is plenty more Jack O’Connell for me, he is a brilliant actor and I can’t get enough of him
For the serie 4 I’d like to see the couple Effy/Freddie and how Effy acts when she’s officially in couple, in love with someone !

-See Naomi and Emily face their homosexuality
-What will the reaction of Katie and the police to return Effy?
-How will change the relationship between Effy and her parents?
An apparition of her brother Tony maybe ?

-See the dark side of Katie
-Effy is pregnant but we don’t known if it’s Freddie or Cook the father of Effy’s baby at the same time Pandora is also pregnant but we do not know if Thomas or Cook is the father !

supposed that I would’ve hard to get this new bunch after s 1&2, but that was a relief founding that I did’nt need to choose favourites. But, I must say that I fins most characters in S 3 more shifting and as the serie goes on yo feel more and more for all of them. in s 1 and 2 you’ve got the whole character at first and it hardly changes over the episodes-
It MUSTnot be anything wrong with that, just telling my angle of the difference between those gangs and those seasons.
Both the writers and the new actors had this brave to NOT coping the sucess of those first seasons. As most people would do. Well done with that! Especially as they’ve keep the terrible charm.

I think that Freddie and Effy work well together and should stay together in the next series, maybe have a few bumbs along the way but they only make them stronger as a couple. I also think they should talk more to keep all the others from saying they dont have any conversations. I think a good heart to heart would do them good maybe Freddie opens up about his mother and Effy opens up about her family life or wharever.
As much as I love Freddie now I do think he needs to lay back and have a bit more fun this season, I also think that Cook should maybe turn around and help Freddie in a time of need instead of Freddie always having to help Cook.
Finally I think that this series should be more about friendships and creating bonds between all the members of the group because that didnt happen much this series and I think it would be good if they were all more close.
I think Im one of the few people who enjoyed the Triangle more then the Naomily stuff.
I dont really get the Hype surrounding it but whatcver we all have our own opinions

Being gay, and being a fan of the whole noamily relationship, what was truly best about their portrayal was the fact that it wasn’t stereotyped in any fashion or tied with any coming out cliches. They’re just two young people in love and they go through all the emotional turmoil of wanting to be loved, being afraid or insecure. Not only that but they’re both stunning characters in their own right, they both struggle through college at fitting in because they’re so different to everyone else; Naomi is strong and is happy to be her own person and finally, at the end of the series Emily is able to reach this stage too from shedding her twin skin.
Although i enjoyed episode 7 and 10 (the relationship between cook and his Dad was very well done) I have to agree that the love triangle has run its course and eclisped over characters and their story’s far too much. Pandora and Thomas felt particularly side-stepped. However, i appreciate that its hard to juggle so many characters within a 10 episodes so perhaps for future series the writing team could consider having less characters so each one can be fleshed out more?
Going back to Emily and Naomi, what really is VERY important that you continue the excellent writing course of these two characters and their un-stereotypical relationship. No silly shit like Naomi falling for a guy- its a responsibility to send a positive message that gay people can have relationships just like straight people with all the good and bad stuff that comes with it- they’re just two people in love and all sorts of things can happen, whether it be they find conflicts in things they care about, family disputes, whatever! Of course i would a final happy ending and i know this is skins and you hate preaching and sending stupid little morals to people but, well it would be a shame to ruin it, wouldn’t it?
As for Effy- she still has bags more potential but I think her role as the sort-of-main-character/queen bee should be abolished. Emily has come so far this series- it would be great to see her lead the gang or at least keep things together.
Oh, and 7 was the best episode. 10 for music.
Whatever you guys decide, I trust you, because you’ve given the British youth so much- more than any shitty OC/pretending to be down with the kids documentary/fuckingmindless100 channels tv ever good. You have an excellent writing team, and I tip my hat to you and also alex for the sick music.

I think Thomas, Pandora and Katie need more screen time. Thomas has serious charisma.. They need to be explored through out the series in depth and with quirky subtly (as done with Naomi, Emily, JJ). Particularly Katie slowly discovering her own individuality and loosening her controlling tendencies.
I want more inter-group interaction and not of the pointless lust and shock variety. Eg. developing friendships between Naomi and Effy who are both matched in vulnerability, strong fronts and intelligence. A fight/debate or allying between those two would be scary (but in a good way). Perhaps they could have an episode of both Effy and Naomi cleverly manipulating a situation to their advantage or to a particular end.
Also, Naomi and Freddie (as friends) she might be able to kick some friendly life into him (her mocking awareness of Freddie and Effy during the classroom scene was wicked).
Emily and JJ as friends are awesome too.
The show really needs to focus on developing the friendships, maybe this could be done during career lectures or work shops where people can unexpectedly find they share something in common, maybe go through some childishly constructed philosophical game or teach them how to actually use a condom, resuscitate people etc. or have a lecture on mental illness/Freud and see how that goes down with the group.
I loved the hint of a JJ and Effy friendship, he makes her smile (as seen in the last ep) which i think Effy needs right now. Friendships offer a much more stable base than the low key bore of a relationship between Effy and Freddie. If Effy needs stability, it should come from friends not some rocky “love”/lust relationship that completely drowns her own identity.
I like the idea of Effy liking someone outside the group and maybe failing to get that person in the end but gaining stability through her friends. I like how Effy understands Cook, it’d be pretty cool if they could be friends not lovers.
Freddie needs a complete character reinvention, he needs to not be so insular, inadequate and prickly towards the people close to him i.e. JJ and Effy.
Since the series left off with Effy possibly facing juvenile punishment, they could possibly put the whole group involved in the incident into counseling. This could turn out to be hilarious as the counselor could attempt to help some of these kids but also be subject to their individually strange behaviour in the process. A group session could be turned into sense if Effy snaps and regains some of her insight and self-possession by being able to sort out and dissect what is wrong with others and finally with some help, herself.
Maybe an episode could revolve around one of Naomi’s activist things and Cook could put his student body president thing to good use in helping her out on it.
Please, for the love of god, don’t make skins 4 more dark! I am of the school of thought that series 1&2 were a bit too cool for school and lost I interest with all the hollyoaks-esque drama’s. I much prefer it when the good times out-weigh the bad. The characters have always been good, the humour’s unavoidable with such a stella cast! Life’s hard enough without our favourite program breaking our hearts. Happy Endings all the way!!!
As everyone will agree, the whole of Series 3 was excellent. The writing, the acting, the music, the editing as well as the overall production as all first class and when it came to the Emily/Naomi episodes, I think the whole production team broke new ground when it came to taste, sensitivity and intelligence So much so, I think it could be even be worth considering a whole new spin-off series concentrating on these the Emily and Naomi characters. It seems more than possible that it could be a real success since it’s clear from the voting on the Skins website that they have been the most popular characters by far which means that the potential for them to continue on after they finish College etc is already there.
Importantly, it would mean that within that spin-off series, there is the potential for so many things to happen which would also allow the opportunity to maintain some of the original cast members from Series 3 because once they leave College we could follow them as they get their first jobs, new friends, family dramas etc. etc. and characters such as Katie and the Fitch parents as well as Naomi’s mother and Effy’s parents could also be regulars.
I would love to be able to keep seeing these characters and actors for many years to come and I couldn’t thin of anything better than a spin-off series made by the same production team.

Anyway, yet i want top spot ONE difference; in Skins the surprising love affairs NEVER is a matter of random. It is beliavable, if not immediately. Like that Freddy.Effy thing. Effy MAY be fond of Freddys laidback style, and that’s all the stuff of her curiosity. but yet it IS beliavable.

Hey, I think we should see more friends/family moments!! Effy/naomi/pandora maybe effy and JJ, Emily/JJ, emily/thomas ….and katie?? doesn’t seem like she has real friends so that’d be good to explore different friendships. Would like to see how the Naomi/emily relationship goes, tI think Emily should become more confident/independent and we should see what naomi and emily would like to do later, go to uni, get a job? they are my fav characters. Basically,we should see more thomas, pandora, JJ, katie, emily and naomi in series 4. Love effy’s parents, so it’d be good to see if they actually get a divorce!! And naomi’s mom is wicked, maybe a meeting between her and Mrs Fitch would be interesting! that’s just some ideas
I agree with them whose want more than only romance. I’d like those we’ve seen more developmented. not just breaking off and on. It would be too simple a cliffhanger to such a serie as Skins.
I also join that idea with naomi and Effy being friends. i’ve thought that by myself; that they seems alike in intelligence and reflecting. But with somewhat difference in moral;)

JJ, Cook and Freddy-i like seeing their friendship cause there’s a lot of such thinga around me in school. Boys ruling the corridors, and there’s a lot of Cook’s annoying me to hell. So it was really remarkable finding I could like this cook (great acting!) and feel somewhat understanding. Freddy wasn’t kind to JJ I think. Pretty superior. Cook, in his special way, was much more honest.
Effy should be in jail or something like that? NOT because i want her into one. But due to what she was done towards Kat, and then running away. Yes, some punishment should be given her.
Kat and emily would be finding their way back into sisterhood. Slowly and with more understanding maybe. And-because this is Skins-with a lot of struggling with family and with the fact Emily and Naomi is a couple. I totally agree with Frankly Frankie – Naomi visiting the twin’s family should be a really great scene!
In school, cannot there be some kind of campaign, by naomi and maybe emily. Not necessarlíly on gay rights, but something tha´t involve all the gang, in some way. Get them closer to the others.
Shortly; keep the characters, keep them stay the same but develop. Give them time, scenes, and words that make us love them even more!
I think alot of stuff could be done with the families next season.
I definatley would like to see Emily coming out to her parents because obviously they are the ones that will have the biggest problem, and then Naomi visiting would be awsome.
I Definatley want to see more of Freddie’s family I love Karen shes Awsome, I think we need to learn how his mum died and how they delt with it. That would be intresting. Bringing cooks mum into it would be good ever since episode 2 Ive woundered abour her and why Cook isnt living with her.
More of JJ’s parents aswell we didnt see his dad and only a few minutes of his mum nothing much happened and Id like to get to know them better.
I wanna see how Effy’s family deal with this whole rock thing, infact I want to see how everyone deals with it and how it sorts itself out.
Which brings me to Freddie and Effy. I cant post this without mentioning that they were my favourite things about this series. Im really starting to get annoyed with what people are saying that they havent had conversations, They dont have a friendship to build a relationship and cook & Effy are much better and definatley have had all those things. Have I been wayching the same show or Have I missed this huge conversation between them? Seriously. We are ment to fill in the gaps and if Freddie and Effy never talked then Cook & Effy didnt either.
There relationship is realistic and I think that they have amazing chemsitry. I am really intrested to see how they act as a couple and definatley think freddie should open uip to her about his Mum, that would be a scene I would Die to see

I am one of the few perhaps who has not watched skins 1 or 2…
so anyway:
The actors were all great, no problems there. Humour = totalwin.
1. More development of believable friendships! They seemed a bit mashed together. Whilst a lot of the characters themselves were strong (with the exception of Freddie, and the soft-touch Effy who at the start was so sassy! Come on, is Freddie really so compelling?) I’d love to see Pandora and Effy’s friendship grounded back in truth. Cook & Freddie’s conflict/friendship is interesting but only in terms of their shifting values, NOT the love-triangle angst thanks.
2. More development for Katie’s character. I saw some depth and curiousity tells me there should be more.
3. Poor Panda, she really must be more integrated with the rest of the group. She has pure insight to offer, I hope she can show the group a thing or two. I hope she can have an honest tiff with her Mum.
4. Naomi and Emily: I know, I had to go there right?They’re brill’ and I get that drama will happen but please let it not be a cliche’d boy/crazy-obsessed/ plot. Emily’s parents are a foreseeable and believable obstacle…that’ll be interesting. What happens if Emily gets in trouble after faking ID for the history exam…what if they’re split? How will they hold the future together?
5. Where’s Cook’s Mum? Maybe Effy and Cook will live together due to family-disfunction.
6. James Fitch is gold, thankyou side-line purveyor of facts!
7. JJ and Effy, I don’t know how. Probably over a really long amount of time, possibly involving them in a duo drug-syndicate. Maybe Effy can forgive her mum after witnessing JJs family…
8. Friendship with Katie and Effy after hate! please?
9. Freddie should be forced to hold some messy f***ing responsibilty, maybe then he’ll drop the holier-than-thou approach. I propose money problems.
10. Naomi dealing with odd teacher/Mom situation. How can she live with/respect this man after that?

Its funny, I can see a lot of what I felt reflected in some of the points above. A big point mentioned was about character development, which I feel does have to be developed. One thing which I would say in defence of the third series above the first is that the first series of characters fitted into such strong types that they only needed some additional development. The third series character are more normal, not quite as exaggerated and so are harder to characterise in a sense.
I did like the idea between the love triangle, and while it did produce some good scenes it was not strong enough as a whole to keep the same sorta interest as the Emily/Naomi romance so I don’t it will continue, unless a lot of extra energy is put into it. What I feel, is that there should be some more cause and effect, as the white stripes once sang. Cook got off far too lightly with his involvement with the gangsters, Effie seemed to get some rejection following her actions, but it was nothing of the seeming level of rejection which tony seemed to suffer come to the close of the opening season.
The danger of upping all the drama of course is the problems that it caused in series two which seemed to take itself a bit seriously and the group seemed to loose all cohesion and in all it felt a bit depression. So what I am looking for in brief…. I think…. is some more characterisation, a wee bit more realism (not too much of course) a bit of extra drama between the group, as well as conversly some more large group interaction- all of them in the same place together having fun, illustrate to us that they are all friends.
Sigh, I think I kept contradicting myself a bit there, but yeah thats kinda what I would like, I think. Yeah….
I think cook is a figure the most interesting, and the couple cook and effy was very good and better than fredddie and Effie, less boring.
- I’d love to see more of Cook and JJ’s friendship, since it is such a huge fan favorite and they’re just downright adorable
- As much as I like Emlily/Naomi PLEASE don’t go go overboard with them, you wuld only be makinf the same mistake of S3 with the triangle. One sotyline eating the entire show
- More of Katie, Panda and Karen please
- Either less Freddie, or Re-write (idealy, recast him with so one who can act, but I know it can’t be done) him in some way. I know he was supossed to be tyhe good guy but it ended up being the complete opossite for most fans
- More of Cook and Effy, either as a couple or as friends, they have amazinf chemistry and it’d be a shame to easte it on Freddie and Effy’s cheesy story
- Effy needs to either be single or find some one that isn’t Freddie. He’s conmstantly putting her down and blaming her for everything,a nd every time she’s with him she gets completly OCC, I miss old school Effy, not the person she becomes with him
- MORE FRIENDSHIP
- Explain certan stuff like why Panda keept hooking up with Cook (since we know why cook did it), or how Freddie and Katie got together
- I’d love to see how the Effy-rock thing develops and the cionsecuences she could face
- Cook could use a Girl friend, I think he could use some sister-like relationship and teasing, and please his mum needs to show up at some point
- More of James Fitch, he’s gold

1. Mrs Fitch VS Ms Campbell – it’s obvious. They’ve been written as characters opposite for each other; Naomi’s neo-hippie mum and Emily’s distant, cold mother, who is always in rush and doesn’t care about her children, at last – about Ems (remember 1st episode? she doesn’t even recognize her twin daughters’ voices!).
2. More Pandora – actually, after 4th episode, which was great (but actually not only about Panda), I’ve been dissapointed that she became comedy character, because I find her very complex – she need a developmnent
3. Pandora’s mother, her hypocrisy and perversions – this character has a HUGE potential
4. Emily and Naomi, but please, no cheating cliche, no escapes from home, nothing like that – actually, it would be very intresting, if they were together for whole season, at last, for most of it. Every couple in Skins had problems with cheating, there were serious break-ups – Emily and Naomi will have problems anyway as gay couple, with Emily’s parents etc., and I don’t think it’s easy relationship, because they are SO different (Emily is sensible and sensitive, but brave; Naomi is insolent and sarcastic, but a bit cowardly and care about other people’s opinion more than she says she does). They are perfect to show that being in relationship is even harder than striving for it; 3th season was about discovering sexuality and new feelings, 4th should be about difficulties of relationship, but without easy break-ups.
5. Katie – now “the single twin”, separate from Emily, dealing with for her own
6. less Freddie/Cook/Effy stuff
7. Emily and JJ’s friendship
I loved skins 3, I thought most of the characters and storylines were very interesting, the love triangle was a good idea but it got a bit boring at the end. My favourites were Naomi and Emily (more screen time for them but be careful not too much so that it becomes a second love triangle situation). Their storyline was done very very well and I completely agree with headsfortails:
They’re brill’ and I get that drama will happen but please let it not be a cliche’d boy/crazy-obsessed/ plot.
I really really think that at the end of season 4 naomi and emily should be together because they worked so hard for their relationship and they truly are perfect for each other.It would be a shame if Naomi falls for a guy and becomes straight again…I would love to see her fight for emily and show more how much she is in love and that it’s not just an experiment for her. She should want to be together with emily because she loves her and not just because she needed someone and emily was the only one there…

Right, i’ve got my new Skins character – A male lead singer of an anarchic rock band but – crucially – an INTELLIGENT lead singer. Someone who can bring together certain aspects of the other characters and create situations where they all fit together as a group. He’d get on with Naomi because they’d have similar dreams of changing the way the world is run. He’d get on with Cook because he loves the anarchy as well (though for more defined reasons). He’d get on with Freddy because all anarchists love spliff ;p He’d get on with Effy because they are both “people-watchers” who can use the information they gather to their own ends. Katie could date him because she’s attracted to people of percieved “status”, Thomas could help out with the music and Pandora would probably think the whole situation was whizzer. Haven’t thought about Emily and JJ yet. Maybe they’d both hate him because he’d stolen the attention of the people they love the most and they’d form a firmer friendship.
Also i should mention that this new character wouldn’t exactly be “nice”, he’d just be good at making everyone think he was. Really he just gets a kick out of toying with peoples emotions but he gets away with it because he’s smart enough at being manipulative and hiding what he’s doing. Though deep down he wishes that he COULD care about something and didn’t feel so far removed from everybody.
Anyway, it would provide lots of opportunities for group scenes and the chance for their friendships to be explored and solidified.
8. NO NEW MAIN CHARACTER LIKE SKETCH. Every character should have her/his own episode. Effy, Emily, Katie, Naomi, Pandora, JJ, Cook, Freddie, Thomas – exactly 9 episodes. Add the Finale – you have whole season. NO SHARING EPISODES!
ok all the main story lines so far include: Virginity, angry drug dealers, eating disorders and self harm, falling in love with a teacher, being gay, useless parents, being hit by a bus, the recurring theme of unreturned love, pregnacy, death, being an immigrant, having mental problems and sibling rivalry. lets face it what havnt skins done and this is why its the best show ever invented. it seem to me that the only thing the writers can possibly do is manipulate previous ideas into new re-vamped ones
i also desperately need to know what happened to sid and cassie at the end of series two, incorporating that into new series would be a marvellous idea
Well first I want Season 3 to come to New Zealand…
Well, first of all I think series 3 is the best series of skins, though it’s very different from the first two series.
I think that you should’ve put more friendships going on on the centric episodes, because on those episodes it was focused on the character a lot unlike the first two series.
Anyways, Series 4 should have more Katie in it! Definitely! Maybe at the beginning she was a bitch, but then we saw a vulnerable side of her which I loved. I mean, seeing her all hurt, caring and loving was great and her character is interesting so more screen time for her would totally make the watching worth it.
I mean, they should totally be the main couple in Series 4, they’re the most interesting couple Skins has ever had, their story is well written and eveyrone loves them!
Please drop the love triangle! Freddie and Effy don’t have chemistry at all, unlike Effy and Cook. The triangle was boring and in my opinion Effy was a better character in the first two series.
I’d also love to see more of Thomas who’s interesting (at least he’s more interesting than Freddie) and Pandora, who’s funny to watch.
And of course, Emily and Naomi!
And JJ, well, he’s already got enough development and screentime of his character so you should probably lower his screentime a bit so others will get some too, but I like him.

but more importantly take some direction from films such as kidulthood/adulthood which actually teach young people some hard cold truths and stop glorifying teen issues such as drugs or generally just being sex-crazed youths!
dont get me wrong i love both generations of skins but i think the storylines and characters will flow a lot better if there was actually a more real gritty purpose to them!
What i’d like to see in Series 4:
1. I loved the Naomily developments so I’d like to see that relationship grow more.
2. Freffy and Cook triangle – OVER IT. Effy to just play it by ear with Freddie. No need to jump into relationship, just keep it casual and see how it goes.

4. I’d like the writers to explore drug abuse and addictions. I’ve seen too many of my friends turn into drug addicts and i’d like to see it played out so everyone gets a better understanding that recreational use can quickly turn to a problem. I know skins isn’t about giving out messages and haivng morales to their stories but it couldn’t hurt.
5. I loved Katies character towards the end of the series so i’d like to see alot more of her. She’s got alot of growing up to do. Perhaps even the possibility of a proper relationship would be good, instead of the likes of Dano.
6. Basically need to go back to the start where you could see true friendships and develop on that more. College to me was all about friedns and enjoying your last year with them before adulthood. Would love to see the 3 muskateers back together again. Panda/Effy, Naomi/Effy, Emily/JJ, etc.
You need a a sid character in the new series. one who awakens with the movement of the series.sort of like a passenger that the audience sits with… and i’d definitly like to see cook’s character explored in greater detail.. something leading on from naomi’s comment about him being nicer than her puts on. Cook puts me in the miind of Chris except that chris was happier to be with his mates.. cook comes of as a total arsehole and he is the wedge driven into the group. they need to come back together to develop and cook shouldn’t be excluded. like chris i think cook needs to find the one think he care’s about more than him self
Also i felt in series 1and 2 were learned more about the family story and that made the characters seem more real.. without losing that sense of humor. and if effie’s life is spiriling so incrediably out of comtroll where is her big brother? i realise there has been a cast change but there was such genuine love between those two in the first 2 series i find it hard to believe tony would leave her to be so messed up.
Pandora is a funny character buti think she needs more depth a suprising wisdom perhaps.

Hi, id like to start off by saying i loved the third series, i thought the chrachterisations where brilliant and i perticularly enjoyed to music/soundtrack that went along with it.obviosly in the new series i would like to one or two new faces, possibly another guy and another girl? however i also feel if you add more people in it might get overcrowded with each charachter taking what seems to be there own little spotlight, with the other 2 series you could tell straight off that Tony was the key member of the whole series, yes its true the programme would not have worked without the other charachters, however i still feel that he was clearly the more influential of the charachters and certainly made the biggest impressions, also giving the more memorable scenes to the 2 series. This however cannot be said for the 3rd, although some may argue that Cook is this new “lead charachter” he just doesnt seem to be doing it right. where in the first 2 series Tony didnt have to stand out as much to actually be recognised, it was more that he had a sort of presence that surrounded the other charachters.. however other than JJ, cook doesnt seem to have much of a mental effect on the charachters… sure he has sex with Effy and battles Freddy for her love, but can you really say he was any where near as good as Tony? i think not… so this leads me onto Effy, she being the sibling of Tony, i thought it would have been obvios to give her the limelight, so to speek, however i dont feel it seems natural for her to be doing the same stuff every episode, that is admitting she has feelings for Freddy then running back to Cook. its just not realistic… also i would like to point out that this series (although did contain a few spontanios moments) hasnt diversed from the other 2 series, people watch it to be entertained, but if the writers feel they want to be entertained by mindless drug taking and endless sex scenes, then they are surly wrong. i think something must be done to Luke´s character, it´s not possible how it started up so charming, and fun and idk, just we could sense his fresh style, and all of a sudden he became so lame and boring… i mean don´t get me wrong it´s great that he has certain “values” and all of a sudden loves his sister and respects his dad, but… come on… i think there was a deleted scene in there or something missing, a link missing… a reason.. anyways… his character needs to be sharpened up… deffinitely..
n of course effy´s life can´t be all butterflies as it seems it´s going to be thanks to the series finale…

Ok i have a storyline that will never happen but i might as well share
- Effy gets pregnant at the end of series 3- because lets face it- when do they EVER use a condom !? and she hasent told anyone exept her mum. she stops doing all the regular skins stuf- smoking, drinking, raving and everyone is wondering why. When she finally confides in her best friend Panda , she starts to feel more relaxed with the whole situation, until panda blabs to freddie after he trys to find out why effy hasnt been hanging out with them anymore. Totally confused he storms off to go and see effy and ask why she didnt tell him, and who the father is. Seeing as she doesnt know who the father is he demands a paternity test she refuses and runs away-still pregnant- to go and stay with tony. (i know its getting a bit unrealistic now) and stays there until her waters break. after the baby is born she can tell its freddie because it has a slitly darker skin tone she calls him up and simply says ‘its you’ and hangs up. the next episode will be freddie tryig to find effy and his baby
( dont ask i have a very wild imagination)
I would like to see…
1. Introduce all the characters kept hidden in the 3rd series. You could introduce Naomi’s dad for example. Or Gordon Mcpherson!
2. Less cheating. Yes it happens but you’ve been there, done that with the cheating. Far too much.
3. I already heard your focusing on Naomily more which is what I would like so see more than anything. But also would like to see more Katie and James. In fact the entire Fitch family are hilarious. And please can James be actually fed something instead of been given bananas for his lunch?! A growing boy needs to eat. I like all the banana references though, Naomi’s especially. Yes more bananas in series 4! And more references like you did with the distraction cake, and putting the box of fanny’s back into the closet.
4. I would love to see Naomi’s mum and the Fitch parents hate each other over their daugthers relationship. I could see Gina approving, and the Fitch’s hating it. But that is what could redeem Katie because Katie is wiser to the Naomily lovin’ and knows they’re meant for each other. It would be nice to see Katie stick up for her sister.
5. No main new character. A character should be killed off. You have too many to focus on, and in series 3 some of the main characters hardly had any screen time with each other. e.g. JJ and Pandora, Naomi and Effy etc. Kill Karen! As much as I love Thomas, he doesn’t fit either. One of the main downfalls is that there are too many main characters for the amount of screen time.
6. I would like to see Cook change as a person. Be nice etc, we all it in the scene with Naomi, he has a sweet side, and is underneath it all just a little boy desperate to be a man. If he began to change Effy would fall for him. I would like to see Cook and Effy end up together.
7. Lastly, you should infuse more of Lukes personality into Freddie the Funsponge.
How about Effy turning out to be Bi-sexual? She doesn’t necessarily have to hook-up with either Emily or Naomi because that would be too obvious but she could become involved with a new female character at the college and so add all the complications that a situation like that can bring. It would certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons for Freddie and Cook while Naomi and Emily could be really supportive friends to all of them as they come to terms with the new reality. There’s no reason why Effy shouldn’t also keep a relationship going with either Freddie or Cook because that’s the way her life is sometimes.
Return of tony and more drugs
I especially LOVED the Naomi and Emily storyline in the 3rd series, so definately add more/develop their relationship in series 4 (Ups, downs, everything! But as for me, definately end in an up note!) As for the love triangle with Cook, Effy, and Freddie, that was really disappointing, so i suggest it end fairly quickly within the beginning of the new series (or have it already ended at the start). A new character might be interesting also, who messes with the main cast, and interupts the whole “close-knit group” thing, like a bitchy/slutty person, who goes in between everyones love and friend relationships. And of course, add more drugs, sex, and rock ‘n roll! (And love too! =]).
I think there needs to be more focus and development on the friendships in the group. Much of the focus in series 3 was to do with sexual relationships and now thats done it would be nice to see why this group of poeple are actually friends because at the moment the group is really framented into smaller groups (and in fact they should all hate each other ie. katie hating effy, naomi hating JJ. Thomas hating cook) Would be nice to see how the group copes and recovers from all the drama of last season instead of new drama being shoved in and all the consequences of last season ignored (im pretty sure the writers won’t do this as they are amazing, but just to be sure…
)
I think there needs to be more interaction betwee the characters beyound their relationships eg. Effy/naomi from their breif interaction seen in episode 7, it seems like they could be really good for each other friendship wise. I would like to see that touched upon.
I think one storyline than many fans have thrown about is the reaction of emily’s parents (or more specifically her mum) will react to emily’s and naomi’s relationship. From what you have suggested in episode 9, it will not be a smooth ride and i think it would be interesting to see how that plays out- i definitely do not think it should be ignore as it was quite a major issue in episdoe 9
Please please think about expanding the roles of the other characters. Thomas, Pandora and Katie all took backseat roles in this season and i didn’t think there was any real character development for them at all. I really feel there is so much more to explore with these characters and would LOVE to find out more about them- to actually start caring about what happened to them. e.g. i actually thought katie had some of the funniest lines in the whole season that it made me think that there was so much more to her than the bitchyness and vulnerability she hides
I really enjoyed the character of JJ as it gave real insight into the life of a teenager with autism and aspergers, would love to see you expand on his character and make him play more of a role- instead of just being the ‘good one that needs looking after’ which was the impression i got.
Oh and finally, PLEASE let the twins have seperate episodes. I get why you had them share one last season i.e the fact that they need each other/ clinging to each other (or katie needing emily) but now that emily has broken away from katie, i think this needs to be shown by allowing them their own episodes

Give Katie a more fulfilling storyline, because she’s awesome and deserves it. Make her sympathetic, put her in an actual good-for-her relationship (JJ comes to mind).
Don’t kill off anyone, especially if their names start with Emily or Naomi.
Cook; I like Cook. At first I hated him, but he’s growing on me. I’d love to find out more about his background. And make more funny scenes with him! (not with Effy, it’s too confusing)
Freddie; His character had so much screentime. Considerably longer than the other cast. *COUGH*katie*COUGH*
Although his storylines were interesting, he didnt do anything but pout and look a little bit pretty.
It’s important that we find out a lot more about him, without having all of the other storylines going on around him too.
JJ;First I thought he was cute. Then he got annoying…then funny…then annoying again, and a bit of a hero in ep10… I dont like him. Ollie Barbieri seems cool. No disses to the lad. I dont get JJ.
Please don’t let him touch Emily again (I may cry)
Maybe…more about his father… I want to see JJ individually not constantly with Freddie and Cook.
Thomas; I hate the fact that I dont know anything about him. I enjoyed ep 3…but then he only ended up as a bit part which was quite upsetting. I’d have loved more Thomas/Panda scenes. More Thomas/Emily scenes. So cute. <3.
Pandora; Not nearly enough screentime. She’s hilarious. The writing for her is nothing short of hilarious sometimes…but the whole Cook/Panda thing was just cringeworthy.
Bring back cute innocent Panda.

Effy; I loved Effy. Not so much in the whole love triangle, but finding out about her, and seeing that she’s not as strong as everyone thinks. I loved the Effy Naomi interaction. I find them both as equals. They both act/think the same which will make them have a beautiful friendship!
I’d love Effy to be single. All this drama with Cook and Freddie was interesting to a certain extent, but Effy is cooler when she’s flowing around < not belonging to anyone.
Katie; ILOVEHER. She really needs so much more screentime. She was hardly in an episode until episode 7! I love her, and how caring she is over her sister. I’d love to see more about Katie and why she is how she is regarding Emily, and perhaps Katie not as a twin just as a person!
Love to see more Emily/Katie/Naomi interaction. Maybe some more awkward Katie/Naomi scenes. ;p

1) I agree with everyone who said that you should explore the friendships more, such as Effy/Naomi, Thomas/Emily, etc. At this point, I feel like the group is splintering off into little factions. We’ve had glimpses of these friendships and we know they exist, so I’d like to see them! Friendship will glue the crew together a little bit better. (Wow, what a rhyme-y sentence.)
2) On a related note, it would be nice to have more of the group just hanging out and acting like friends. It doesn’t always have to be so serious! It’s great that they’ve all hooked up and had some nice relationship angst, but now that they’ve known each other a little longer and gotten it out of their systems, maybe they can have more lighthearted fun next series. No more fighting over each other, no more silly “games” (cough cough)
3) More Katie!! Also, more JJ! (Perhaps a little bit of Katie/JJ? Hmm…)
4) More interaction between the characters and their families. With the last cast, I felt we got to know a lot of their families really well, especially Sid’s but also Maxxie’s and Jal’s. I’ve loved all of the Stonem action in season 3 but would also love to see more of Naomi’s mom, the twins’ hilarious family, etc.
5) As far as “issues” go, I think it would be interesting to see someone in the cast discovering religion. Anwar’s struggles with being faithful to Islam but also being a crazy teenager and having a gay best friend was one of my favorite aspects of the original cast. I’d like to see someone undergo some kind of religious epiphany and see how that person and their friends deal with it.
… but honestly, you could keep doing exactly what you did in season 3 and Skins would still be my favorite show. :]
All I can really ask for is, writers, please do something with the amazing chemistry between Cook and Naomi. Of course they don’t have to be in a relationship, but a Cassie/Chris kind of friendship would be amazing. He needs to get away from Freddie, JJ and Effy once in a while and Naomi connected more with him than anyone else. And Naomi, she needs someone else, not just Emily. And, if you would really make me happy, introduce a new romantic interest for Emily. Right now, I just don’t see any chemistry with her and Naomi, because I saw a great deal more with Emily and JJ AND Emily and Cook. I just want to see how she is with another girl, you don’t have to keep them together or something, but I’d love to see if she’d work better with another girl. As for Effy, lmao, tbh I don’t think she works well with either Cook or Freddie. Maybe she could just go gay with Katie or something. And on the topic of Katie, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, let her have her own episode! I think she’s more interesting than Emily tbh, I really want to see more of her. MORE KATIE.
My first suggestiion would match others-lose the triangle! I think effy is such a brilliant character, kaya creates her ‘beautiful disaster’ so perfectly it seems a waste to give her character such a poor storyline. Freddie is frankly boring, karen was more interesting than him and Cook’s episode was cringe-worthy. I never felt any chemistry or even a reason for the whole debacle to be honest
Effy needs to be explored properly, there were a few amazing scenes, her episode for instance was werid and wonderful, and the bit in the bath was genuinly upsetting. I also love her understanding with naomi
Which brings me on to my next point that the relationships need to be developed, the dynamic I think should be clear a few episodes into this series, less pointless recklesness for the sake of it because when real donds are formed (ie naomi and emily) it so works
I also agree that an addiction should be shown, not just cook’s addiction to sex
Katie could be so interesting, she should either become weaker and see what she’s been like, let emily take charge, or completely go of the rails. Seeing her becoming deluded would be really interesting to
Of course Naomi and Emily deserve time dedicated to the development of their realtionship, please plese please not L word style lesbian stereotypes, but more of the honesty thats been shown in series 3. I want to see how people’s reactions affect them, and generally more of the two, especially Lily’s acting is amazing-Just don’t mess them up please They are the best thing skins has done, its has quite literally (corny moment) affected young gay girls lives in that skins has the power to shape opinion and other teens being able to see how theat kind of relationship could work has been amazing. Keep up their perfection!
I generally want to see series 4 more balanced, less jumpy because I know it has the potential!

i think that one of the main focuses of series 4 should be emily and naomi as they were so well received during series 3. i think it would be a scandal to split them up as it would ruuin all the good acting and writing to make it work in the first place. for those two i think their storyline should be based more upon the fact of seeking acceptance from family and at the same time not really caring who knows. i think it would be interesting to see the coming out to the parents and how they do it. also how the parents react. i would imagine that naomis mum would accept it easier and emilys would be horrified but slowly have to come to terms with it. this would be quite ironic seeing as with the girls it was the opposite way round and naomi had to come to terms with it more.
panda and effy need to start to rebuild their relationship together, as do thomas and panda, so there would need to be, early on, a panda episode to see these relationships healing.
im a bit stuck for ideas on where the freddie/cook/ jj relationship can go seeing as there is so much bad history yet the potential for them to go back to being best buds. i think it would be unrealistic for the three of them to be absolutly fine to start with but with some clever writing they could find a way to find forgiveness for each other.
effy and the boys, well i cant really say that i can see the boys becomming good friends again if she is still involved with any of them. so either she stays involved and the fued continues or she detatches from them completely and finds herself another person.
katie and emily need to have some proper bonding and understanding sessions. either katie could hav ea complete turnaround and support emily when coming out to her parents or she could stay bitter and fuel the discomfort of the situation.
i would also like to see the development of effy and naomis relationship as in series 3 at moments it seemed they had a real understanding for each other. if this was developed it would be a way of understanding effy more.

Yes, ditch the Effy,Cook,Freddie triangle story, it’s LAME. I don’t know why this series started and ended so focused on those 3 when obviously Emily and Naomi had a better storyline. Let’s hope the people of Skins realize this and start the new season with Emily and Naomi. Actually that would be the best thing, to start off the series with both Naomi and Emily in the beginning or individually, instead of Freddie like on the first episode of season 3.
The love triangle this series between Effy, Cook & Freddie wasn’t the greatest of story lines because to me it was just annoying. Freddie & Effy like each other yet Effy still went in the sack with Cook… The Pandora & Cook thing made no sense either, the first time with twister, that I was alright with but when she kept seeing him after Thomas came back… out of character for Pandora in my opinion. Katie didn’t get enough screen time, I think next series she should get as much as any of the others, same for JJ and Thomas. The Naomi & Emily story line was the most believable.
Next series I would like to see…
A functional relationship (Pandora and Thomas being the best candidates… maybe Emily & Naomi but you know how girls are…)
An episode for every character, as in no sharing between the twins and also maybe Karen’s own episode if she is set to play a big part in the next series.
The love triangle to be over. (Freddie, Effy & Cook).
JJ getting over Effy.
Katie getting more screen time.
Freddie & Effy being together (and happy) for at least the first few episodes…
Cook needs to get with more girls, outside of the gang.
JJ needs a girlfriend. Katie needs a boyfriend, a university lad or something.
Naomi & Emily getting caught in the act by Emily’s little brother.
Friendships develop more. I found Emily & JJ to be such a cute friendship, also the smirks Naomi gives to Freddie & Effy when she saw them touching hands in class.
They all need to hang out more often together, more parties?
I know how many people love Naomi & Emily, I mean, I love them too, but I don’t want to see them go overboard this season… I would like them to be treated like a normal couple, same screen time, same problems, etc.
Also the backgrounds of certain characters need to be explained more, such as Thomas’.
Emily & Katie’s brother needs to be seen more, he’s hilarious.
New characters? If not main ones, just a extras such as teachers and peers from their clubs… e.g Naomi’s rally buddies.
Finally… PARTIES. More wild parties are needed.

I’m going to state my general ideas first, then hopefully expand on them, so:

1. Katie has been blatantly underused in S3, and I’m sure many would like to see more of her, Meg’s a fantastic actress. Ep 9 obviously provides the opportunity to develop her character in S4, they’re no longer ‘twins’ per se, moreso ‘individuals’, and Katie deserves storylines that don’t revolve around Emily. Katie has massive potential, you’ve already revealed her insecurities, so USE that. Let’s see how you resolve the whole Effy+rock incident. THAT IS POTENTIAL.
2. I can honestly imagine Freffy working on paper, problem is, it didn’t translate well to screen. At all. We KNOW that the longing glances were meant to smybolise some sort of evolution and development of relationship (Effy S1&2 communicated everything we needed to know with hardly any words), but it didn’t work in this scenario. And that’s perhaps why this triangle’s been ‘lovingly’ called the “Triangle of Boredom” etc. And why perhaps Effy/Cook have equal, if not more fans than Freffy.
3. This brings me to my next point actually, I think the triangle’s beyond fixing. I think Effy should ditch the triangle and move beyond the boundaries the group. The triangle dragged her down tremendously this series. I’ve looked at the polls; Effy’s at 2% – possibly a drop from the last two seasons where even as a secondary character she came across strongly and became so many people’s favourites. I MISS S1&2 EFFY. S1&2 Effy was pure a-maz-ing. What happened here? I KNOW she needed to start communicating more and develop as a character, but the triangle was simply a bad outlet for that. Effy without Cook and Freffy in Series 3 was wonderful, though — Effy & Pandora, Effy talking to JJ, Effy with Naomi, Effy by herself, Effy with Anthea, Effy eyeing Emily. OH, and also, did you guys happen to ditch a storyline with Effy involving Naomily? The knowing glances and smiles in the first 3 episodes were FANTASTIC. THAT IS THE EFYY I LOVE. — P.S. (TONYTONYTONY)
4. THERE IS SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR FRIENDSHIPS. You really have to harness it. Effy&Naomi, anyone? Ep7 showed how fantastic that could be. The problem with this series is that it focused far too much on relationships and friendships were hardly developed. Don’t know, somehow integrate them as an actual group?
– Effy&Naomi, Effy&Emily, Effy&Katie (friendship after resolving issues)
– TWINTERACTION is ACE
– Naomi&Cook (purely friendship, but they have chemistry), Naomi&Freddie (ep5 she was clued in on Freffy)
– JJ&Katie (this could be incredibly interesting)
Really, they could all work well.
5. Naomily.Oh, I adore them soso much.You really could develop their storyline based on the whole Fitch family (who are also fantastic) debacle. I’m not sure whether you guys are willing to give them a happy ending S4, though? It will certainly make plenty of fans happy, but there lies a problem that they are indeed each other’s first loves, and how often does that last? If you guys were to ever split them up, I’d want it to be because they’d fallen out of love with eachother — but I see that unlikely given that it had taken them a year to get together, so they wouldn’t be seperating in a year’s time? I honestly don’t know where I’d like to see them going. MAKE IT FANTASTIC, somehow.
6. I loved the humour and wit in the first 2 series. I think more of that should be brought back. Problem is, I don’t seen any of the characters being able to pull it off, they perhaps lack the Tony-esque qualities (intelligence, charm) needed for a fair bit of it. Naomi has the snarkyness, and her one liners were brill – (strap-on, soliloquies, cement mixer), so maybe? Katie&Naomi ep4 interaction, hah!
BTW, WTF were you thinking with the fart gags in ep1? That is such a massive step down from the humour of the last 2 series. Shame.
Anyway, just fix the wrong from S3, perhaps step up the writing to S1&2 standards, and just make it FANTASTIC. I trust you guys, you’ve given us 3 great series’ so far.
more interlocking storylines..
the new characters have to depend on each other like seasons 1&2 so maybe cook should take up the role as glue because effy is too disfunctional to tie everyone together.. JJ should grow some balls throughout series 4 and we should see effy find resolve somehow. More of the little references between episodes so each one doesn’t feel as detached…

Naomily wise- I really want to see the struggle that gay teen go through once they are out. Emily’s family could be a really big issue for Emily to show how she copes with her parents not accepting her. As for Naomi she has never admitted to be gay or bi, she’s only ever said she liked Emily. I want to see her struggle with everyone thinking she’s gay when she doesn’t seem sure she is herself. Throwing another girl in the mix and having naomi be jealous would be fun! As long as there is NO cheating!!
The other character wise- Not that I’m that interested in them lol but no more unrealistic love squares! That whole plot was a disaster. Also, no more using ‘love’ so lightly. Why do Freddie and Effy love each other? They had like 3 conversations the entire series! *sigh*
I don’t know if this has been said… I think it would be really great if Skins writers could find a way to deal with the Naomi/Emily storyline without resorting to tv-relationsip cliches, such as a third party, going back to boys (in the case of many tv lesbian relationships) or break up-make up a thousand times.
Also, I know that they are going to be focussed on more in the fourth series, but just to see more of their chemistry and interaction..to allow the audience to see more of what they see in each other…
I’d love to see more of the chemistry and interaction between Pandora and Thomas as well.
The same thing for friendships. Haha…double dates, anyone? No, but friendships between Naomi/Emily and Effy, the relationship between Katie and Emily…although we saw Emily being overpowered and we got to see their dynamic a bit mroe in detail in ep 9, I think it would be great to watch them together more, especially now that Emily has broken away from Katie. I wonder if they can actually be more like friends now that the power dynamic is not so unequal…
Overall, Skins is brilliant… I’m from Canada and I love it, it’s such a diamond in the rough. I trust the writers to make the series amazing, and I’m sure I’ll love it no matter what. LOVE SKINS!
We all love Skins for the sex and drugs and rock-in-head and hit-by-bus excitement, but I love when you get to see some more of the ‘not so in your face’ bits; where there’s still a whole heap of action, but it’s under the surface.
The friendship between JJ and Emily was gorgeous, and it’d be great to explore that. I’d also love to see some more of the dynamic between Cook and Naomi – they both seem to be really intelligent, in different ways obviously, but a friendship between the two would be very interesting.
Everyone was shagging everyone this season. Let’s still have the shagging but some more focus on the non-sexual relationships for next season.
I don’t think Effy should be with Cook or Freddie, maybe a new character could be introduced that Effy gets together with. It will be interesting to see how Naomily works out, and I think series 4 should have something to do with them and how people react to them being in a proper realationship. It would also be great to see more of Karen? I think that she should get together with Cook or maybe even JJ? And if she got with Cook, it could cause some huge fight between Freddie and Cook. I’d love to see more of her. I never really found Thomas that interesting but I LOVE Pandora, she is so funny.. It would be really good to see her becoming really wild and I think she shouldn’t be with Thomas but maybe another member of the gang. Katie should be more involved with series 4, and I think something really big has to happen with her, and also, Effy hit her over the head with a rock? Katie should seek revenge or something like that too make it really interesting. Oh and also, Katie and Emilys brother is a LEDGE haha.. gotta have more of him. But I loved series 3, hopfully series 4 can be even better. x
skins series 3 did really well in showing the emotions of same sex relationships !
i think its important that issues affecting same sex relationships are brought into series 4,
now even though the girls are together they need to show how people will still judge them,
how some people find same sex relationships to only be about the sexual side and how maybe religion and offer factors effect the situation etc ..
it would be really interesting for skins to shows how lesbians find it difficult to show public
displays of affection as when speaking to gay people in the past they hate the fact they have to keep their intamacy secret, skins should also try and grow with the girls as they start to be more comfortable with their sexualities.
I think thats skins series 4 should see the couple tested but in ways such as paranoia
and feelings instead of cheating etc . I would love to see how katie deals with emily being gay and it would be interesting to see if some of the other characters experimented with their sexualties or change because of the new couple !
1. More friendships please. Especially between Naomi/Effy. I thought the small scene they had together in ep 7 was great and that they really worked well together.
2. More Naomily, but like others have said, don’t go overboard. Would like to see Emily coming out to her parents and dealing with their (probable) unacceptence. Please don’t make either of them cheat on the other. That would just cheapen their whole storyline in my opinion, which would be a real shame. There are many possible obstacles to keep the relationship interesting without involving cheating. I don’t mind ups and downs but I’m hoping for a happy ending!
3. More Emily and Katie bonding. I really like their scenes together.
4. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I would love for a JJ/Katie relationship to happen. They haven’t really had much screen time together, but I think JJ would be good for Katie and vice versa. I just really really want this to happen.
5. I would like to know more about how Freddie’s mum died, as it wasn’t really explained, and I want a new story for Freddie, something out with Effy.
6. Panda and Thomas really need more screen time.
7. Maybe introduce us to Cook’s mum? I’m interested to see what she’s like. Also would like to see Naomi’s dad enter the picture.
8. A possible storyline could be that one of them gets addicted to drugs and the gang have to pull together to save them.
9. More James Fitch and Karen. They’re both hilarious.
10. Please don’t kill any of the cast off!

Because let’s face it, Katie and Cook were kind of destined to happen.
At first I was a bit skeptical of the whole cast change for series 3 and especially the introduction of such big personalities like cook. But after watching the first episode I began to love it and enjoyed it more than any other series! The characters seemed more down to earth and just like normal people. There seemed to be a favorite character in it for everyone!
In series 3 the story between Emily and Noami was brilliant and it showed in some of the reviews it got. I would like to see more of these types of stories in series 4, I was almost crying watching their episode! It was excellent.
I hope emily, nioami, cook and freedie stay in the cast the new series as they are great and I feel that they have a lot more in store. I don’t know if it was just me but in series 3 I felt that pandora was just irritating and on the whole, too childish for the show. I would love to see more of karen as see is hot!

try to keep the 10 episodes you do as this amount is just dead on, don’t start doing it like other UK shows and only do 5-6!
In series 4 I would like to see less of the “celebrities” like bill bailey, chris moyles etc. Sometimes they were a bit cringe worthy and to be honest the show doesn’t need these famous actors to big it up! Save you money

yes, the love triangle/square/whatever sucked hard. effy was amazzinggg in the first two series, more of that, please? tortured pining does not suit her at all. i don’t even understand the relationship between effy and freddie – they hardly talked. freddie would be more interesting with a different storyline, also.
emily had the best storyline – was the best character, in my opinion. realistic, angsty, and sweet. wish naomi wasn’t such a cunt all the time, though. BUT. i really hope they don’t pull what they did to sid/cassie in series 2 on us – that was just terrible to see. i know it can’t be all peaches and cream, but they did end off on a good note.
would like to see more of katie, feel like she has a lot of potential as a character – they really need to close off that storyline with the fight in the forest!
On EMILY/NAOMI – the story should revolve around how Emily’s parents will handle their daughter’s situation that is, relationship with Naomi and her being a lesbian. The most important struggle of a gay teenager is their worried of their parents reactions/actions on their sexuality. I personally struggled with it until now. I am 29 now yet, I still don’t know how to tell my parents/family and friends about it. They are a little bit homophobic based from my conversations with them about celebrities who are gay. Then, it will be interesting how Emily and Naomi will stand up for each other, since as a dependent daughter it will be very hard for Emily to breakaway from her parents’ grasp. How will she financially survive? Where will she live? Will she be taunted by the students? their friends? Will her parents ever accept them? Skins should depict that lesbianism/bisexuality can indeed result to a beautiful relationship despite the odds…We have been beaten down a lot, and I hope that one day, every gay/bisexual teenager will find it easier to love and be loved regardless of your sexuality. Someday, we can proudly go out and express our love for another person without fear of rejection, taunting and insults or worse discrimination.
I definitely think that the Naomi/Emily relationship was the strongest part of the series, and definitely kept me watching (infact, made me start watching.)
It would be a massive loss if you were to end there relationship (especially if it was in a dramatic way). It’s odd because many TV shows only make “exciting” TV when the relationship ends in a catastrophe, and this (it seems) is what most audiences want to see. However, I think the Naomi/Emily relationship works in the opposite way and people actually want to see them work out and be happy together! I think its probably because it’s such an untouched subject and when it is, is often ruined and unrealistic. Cultures becoming much more accepting of homosexuality these days and I think that’s why everyone’s routing for ‘em!

As for the rest of the cast I think Freddie’s character has potential and Luke is a good actor but he BORES the hell out of me?

thank god i’m not the only one who loathed the love triangle, i thought i was crazy for a bit there. The third series jumped into the action right away which is good, but that left most of the characters so wide open that i think the writers thought they could get away with just about ANYTHING
more character development would be nice and a further exploration of characters like Pandora and Thomas (despite having their own episodes they seemed downright unnecessary to the series plot aside from providing some sense of adolescent ‘cuteness’). Also, yes, more of the twins and Naomi (now THERE is a good love triangle that juxtaposes romantic and sibling relationships, exploring the course of separation anxiety and sexual awakening in separate but parallel roads) and of course JJ (what exactly happens to a neurotic genius in his predicament?). Effy needs to do more than just whore around because that’s all she seemed to be good for, honestly. While Cook is quite the character he’s got so many different hang-ups and quirks and defects that without a particular driving force he just seems to be all over the place and a waste of various possible storylines and outcomes. Freddie, ay caramba, I didn’t know enough about this kid to bother psychoanalyzing him. His character was the whiny force that dragged other characters down with him and I’d like to see him do something other than be a stereotypical wingman and perpetual, lopsided ‘voice of reason’.
the ending was just…blah…vague for lack of a better term. and too easy. i was expecting some sort of big reveal to take place and it didn’t. with that in mind i don’t see a series 4 as far as the finale is concerned but thankfully it’s not my job to figure that out

I started watching Skins because of the Emily and Naomi storyline, and it did not disappoint. However, now I am a bit scared as to where their relationship will go. I would like to see some of the struggles Emily and Naomi would encounter telling their families about their relationship. I also agree with Natasha and NIk that adding another girl, who has interest in Emily, to their storyline would be interesting. A jealous Naomi would be very entertaining. It would also cement Namoi’s feeling for Emily in her own mind and help her come to terms with them.
The 2 things I do not want to happen in Series 4 with Emily and Naomi:
1. Please don’t let a boy come between them. That would completely undermine their entire storyline in S3.
2. No cheating on each other. Flirting is fine, but no cheating.
My last suggestion for S4, just even out the on screen time for all of the characters. I loved the Emily/Naomi storyline, but I feel that all of the characters are interesting and should have equal time. Katie and Thomas did not get the screen time they deserved. I would also like more Pandora. She cracks me up!

Just like a few of the others I was not so in love with this season as either it was hard to relate to the characters and as someone else said here they were all a bit direction less compared to season 1 and 2 (eg. tony and ruling the world, jal and music maxxie and dance, when ever any of these directions or purposes was interrupted, tony= car accident maxxie= fight with dad jal= pregnancy, we were all super engaged with the story and really concerned as to weather these characters would be steered of their correct paths.)
perhaps you need to do something amazing and spectacular in a websiode or special, which will change the group dynamic and thus season 4 will begin quite differently (I was a little disappointed with the end of season 3 to tell you the truth, great episode, but not quite amazing enough to be a finale.)
Episode 1 I think should be about Effy in juvie (who ever came up with that is brilliant) and Katie taking over as queen bee, and taking over other peoples lives to compensate not being in charge of her sisters any more. later maybe ep. 2 or 3 when effy gets out, Tony should come back for an ep. and have a heart to heart with her.
expand on Tomas and his family and please don’t mess up emily and naomi. as others said lots of character expansion is what we want because we love the believability of the skins charecters. some more of the emily JJ friendship, maybe she can help him find a girl who he is actually comfortable around (or at least a bit more comfortable than he currently is with everyone). Panda and Freddy really need to find some direction in their lives… I keep thinking about a school play which either goes horribly wrong or someone unexpected actually succeeds at it
in the end the writers are excellent we love you all and good luck with next year.
and I am sorry I forgot to mention it but could you stop it with the casual sex, as much as it is full of eye candy it is incompletely and absolutely not believable. i know this is a drama, but do teenagers really get that much sex?? I dunno, if you want do it once more when one character goes through a personal crisis but other wise, its been done lets move on, lets have the kids grow up a bit. i am just very sick of wondering which in appropriate couple will they put together next. sorry for the rant, but I feel it is needed.

season 4 definatly needs to be similiar to season 2, in the way things got darker and deeper, because in comparison to 1/2, this seasons been pretty childish (still loved it though). as for character development:
Cook – need to go past his party animal side and see him start to grow up, and become a better person. see him start fixing the friendships he ruined this season, like with thomas, naomi, and especially freddie, want to see those two and jj like they were in ‘the last bus’ short.
Freddie – need him to lighten up, but still be the voice of reason to the group, and have serious moments. have the relationship with effy progress, but not be the centrepiece of the season, its not that interesting really. also needs to get closer with thomas, panda etc.
Effy – change her character abit, have her start groing up and becoming a more simple person. keep up the friendship with naomi and panda, and see her becoming more friendly with emily, jj, thomas etc. make amends with katie, but still have some coldness between them.
JJ – needs to become less of a sidekick, like he began to be in the last few episodes, and have him becoming a more central character. keep the emily friendship, and develop more with thomas, panda, naomi, katie. and get some new romance, outside of the group
Naomily – need to stay together but have ups and downs, see how their families deal with them.
katie – needs more action, and become kinder and becoming close with jj, pandora and maybe cook (not sexually, for atleast awhile). and keep the ponytail look she had in episode 9, looked better than when it was all wavy.
thomas and pandora – stay together, possbily pandora becomes pregnant early in the series but decides to keep the baby unlike pandora, and we see how they deal with this throughout the series, with her mums reaction etc.and pandora also needs to grow up abit, except for some of episode 4 really she’s just a toddler in a teenagers body lol.
have more of james fitch, he’s fuckin A. maybe bring back posh kenneth somehow (at a rave or something), more of karen and her singing etc (maybe have her doing something dance related and have a maxxie cameo/refence).
Storyline wise, need to come up with some more thorough idea’s, will get back to it =]/ hope my thoughts were useful somehow
I think freddie was a great character, I think freddie should get effy and cook should accept that (sorry jack lol) and I also think that a new girl comes to the collage that has just moved from london to bristol and freddie, JJ and cook fall in love with her but what they don’t know is that she has a secret she may look 16 but she is only 13 but nobody know’s but then effy dumps freddie to ge tback with cook so then freddie is single again and then freddie and the new girl get together,And then, when the girls best friend from london calls her she putd it on load speaker so freddy can hear and then the new girl says I got a boy and then her friend asks how old is he then the new girl says 16 or 17 (not sure how old freddie is) and then the friend says but your only 13 and then freddie’s like ” WHAT?” and then she hangs up the phone and then freddie’s like your only 13 and they have a big argument about her liying 2 him but freddie still loves her and can’t let her go and he promise’s he will not tell anyone. And also I think the old cast should come back for like half term of somthing.

Please, I absolutely adore Thomas and he got so little screen time in the third series, which was basically all about Effy. Although Effy is good, maybe she should take a bit of a back seat in the next series, and let the not so dominant characters, such as Pandora and like I mentioned before – Thomas. They really need to go more in-depth with Pandora because she was in the second series as well and yet I hardly know anything about her life..
I think there should really be a new character whom Effy should fall for. Someone who isn’t really like her, but Freddie should go out of the Effy picture and realise that he doesn’t love Effy or something, maybe if he finds something out about her, or just grows out of it. Cook should completely fall in love with Effy and then maybe when she falls for this new guy, someone completely out of the crowd, Cook should get jealous and some scenario could arise out of that.
Those are just my opinions, I hope they get recognised, as I love Skins.
I think you need to make the scenarios the charicters find themselves in a bit more realistic. The reason series 1 and 2 were so successful is because the audience could relate to the characters situations. Most teenagers wouldn’t of had to come to terms with nearly killing their friend in an intoxicated rage, nor do they open grids in the floor and walk into a massive party happening underground, its just not realistic. (BRING BACK THE HOUSE PARTIES!!!!!!!!) I also think you have to bring back some degree of depth. Sure the love triangle that happened in series 3 appeared dramatic, but, at the end of the day, it was really shallow. We also need to see them more in college, cause this is, after all, what skins is, supposed, to be about, college students. And the characters in this series need to stop being so cliched. In series 1 and 2, you had, the muslim one, the gay one, the suicidal one, the geeky one, the pretty girl, the happy go lucky guy etc. and that could have been very cliched, but it wasn’t, their was more to the characters than that, but now, you’ve got effy, who always acts as this dark and melevolent caged lion, who isn’t afraid of anything, but thats all she is. Cook, who is a wild party animal, but we never see another side of him, it’s all too black and white. We need the social group to really come together as a big group, not loads of little groups that hardly see each other. You need to make the plots of the episodes run into each other, not, remember one thing and come back to it later. I’d also love to see another cassie character.don’t get me wrong, i loved series 3, i just prefered the other 2.
I loved skins series 3 the best! It was amazing all the characters played their part really well! I hope that naomi and emily will be together when we come back for a mindblowing series! Skins rocks
i hardly watch series 1 and 2…but i thought to my self that i give a series 3 ago and i end up loving it… Emily is my favorite… at the end of series 3 were Gay! at least show a bit of everyone…. but its only focus on freddy, jj, cook and effy! Anyway i hope series 4 will be different…i think emily and naomi storyline it should get crazier even tho they admit that they love each other, but emily mom and dad is not happy and try to stop her seeing naomi etc…. and katie omg it would be fun if she become naomi friends like very close friends and emily is jealous hehe!…. and the fight start again but this time is emily is the bitchy one….. and about effy, she need to be more nicer to people…..and the group not really keen on her after she hit katie on the head with a rock. freddy still with effy but not that close together relationship as we thought and cook need to find a nice girl and fall in love and padora and thomas should have a baby…LOL teenage pregnancy ….. If its me i would make Emily a Trainwreck cuz she cant be with naomi because of her family blah blah blah….and Katie will be there for her sister emily…. etc…i got so many ideas in my head but am too tired to write LOL

yeah that love triangle got kind of boring towards the end to be honest, it was really repetitive.. It’s be great to introduce some new characters, (or even bring back some of the old cast!!) but I think the main thing to work on is developing the characters and how they like mature from the problems they’re facing (I know sound like a fag but so!!) because in the first two series we see how like Chris’s character grew up more because he was afraid of losing Jal etc and maybe have someone like Abigail again like a complete wreck the head but adds a story, oh and her brother, well like not necessarily those two but you get what I mean!

welll from what ive seen so far i would suggest puting more of pandora and thomas in there seen as in episode 9 they make a new start forgetting about the whole cook thing, so yeah definetly want to see more there characters.

i think effy is a really well thought out character, she is so emotionally messed up that any viewer can relate to her. she has so much goin on. drugs, her parents divorce, her love triangle, tony being hit by a bus, and looking good on the outside to hide whats really goin on.
freddie is a character that i personally liked. he’s the goodlooking quiet boy. he can skaye, he’s scruffy, nervous but sticks up for imself. he changed in season three by leaving the life in cooks shadow. this was a good step for him, but i dont think it was developed enough. it was almost like he kept giving up and leaving effy for cook to have, and themn changing his mind, then changing his mind again. it was really repetative.
i did not like cook one bit. but i suppose you weren’t suppost to like his stuck up attitude did you? in JJ’s episode it showed where he lived, in a one roomed messy apartment, where clearly his mother did not live either. i think that should be more developed and looked at. maybe he puts on this party animal look to hide this soft sad side.
emily is brilliant. her dead certancy and openess is comical. she will fight for what she wants and thats brillant. her character is cool because she has so much going on, but it all turns out badly. i think something like her parents should kick her out and she must live buy herself. it would add to her independant character.
naoimi should move in with emily. but they have their own troubles together
katy get pregnant, and it for definite was not cook (surprisingly) so theres a big mistrey there. who does it end up to be?
JJ did come out of his shell in the last couple of episodes, but he started to have an influence over cook and freddie. i think i this was ridiculous. even if he became more independant, he is still JJ and is not a dominant controll freak
SEASON FOUR SHALL BE GREAT!!!
I did love the weird and wonderful feel to series 3, and the completely new character who were not just clones of the last two series. But, when you look back at series 1&2, they always had plots that tackled common teenage issues (which were then blown up a little for interest). I think that they should include issues such as: effy not having any relationships, suicide, a secret talent, cancer, criminal activity, plastic surgery (concerning body issues), Naomily civil partnership (please don’t split them up), receiving parental abuse (i love the effy in juvey idea!), rape and MORE friendships.
A big well done to the skins writers as the writing is fabulous, and skins still remains one of the best shows on tv. (Also the style and music was fantastic). If skins stopped trying to be like series 1&2, it would most certainly be perfect.
I felt that the characters were not as much as a gang of friends like the last series, but more like a partying troop. (one the subject of parties, BRING THE HOUSE PARTIES BACK!) If everything was a little more realistic that would be brilliant, and also if the characters were more developed so that we can actually connect with them, as they are fabulous characters. Finally, I think that sometimes they seem a little shallow (like the constant sex). If it were a little more natural, then it would be perfect.
However, i loved the characters. I thought that the Naomily plot was AMAZING! The love triangle was still entertaining, but a little repititive. Karen is interesting character, so more of her would be good. Same with Thomas, JJ, Pandora and seperate twins episode. Would love for the next series to continue with Naomily, but show the tension between the two families coming to terms with Naomi and Emily’s sexuality. Pandora and Thomas are adorable, but we do not know enough about it. The parents were awesome.

Okay I love all the characters, but we’ve gotta make things interesting. So lets open up Pandora’s box and find Cook inside yet again. There has to be a reason she kept going back to him which wasn’t explained. Plus Pandora’s just so much fun. Next, Thomas, he’s the nice guy sure, lets see what happens to him when things start getting uglier than he ever expected. I’d like to see him and Freddie becoming better friends. Freddie when he’s not pining. Emily, wtf?! I still don’t think even you know why you slept with JJ, but lets not delve into why, maybe just develop your character more so that we can understand what makes you tic because we all love you. Naomi, we all love you and you know it, so how’s about we see where you’re going next, there must be big plans in store for your future, and lets see where Emily and your mother fit into that. Plus I’d love to see you interacting with the Fitch’s. JJ, you became someone we all admired towards the end there. I’d say you grew the most, so lets see where you can put to use your amazing personality and charm, or rather which girl could use some of your wooing. Effy, you are positively a work of art on screen. You play fucked up like no one else I know. Will you ever be normal? I’m not sure, but it would be great to see you build your life back together, and then to see it crumble own again like every time I play Jenga. Freddie, you are a hilarious guy, you really are a treasure to watch when you’re not heart broken. Lets see you happy. Please! Katie, you and Cook have been the most consistent characters, but I want to see you at the front the same way Cook was too. Well thats all the arrogance I can muster to control other peoples lives for a day so toodles!

I think that the love triangle needs to be ditched. Effy + Freddie + Cook = not working.
Effy and Freddie are cute together, and their love should be kept. I think Cook could be shown either to then break down because of this, but find love with someone outside of the closeknit group.
I think Emily + Naomi = super awesome, and that should be preserved.
I don’t like Pandora and Thomas’s togetherness, in fact I think Thomas is an extremely random character and certainly doesn’t fit in with this group. I think Pandora should become a bad girl, and come out of her shell, and also find a bad boy outside of the group – this could cause a big scandal. But hey, what is skins without scandal.
Whatever happens, I’m going to love Series 4. Can’t wait to see the episodes!

I love a lot of the suggestions already been posted, it’s been quite a read.
Effy/Freddie/Cook – Please no more love triangle. I don’t really like Effy/Freddie but I think they should end up together, well I’d prefer her with neither. But after the last series if she went for neither it’ll all be back to square one really. I’m not sure where their characters can go though really, it’s taken me a while to appreciate the three of them and that all happened after the show itself.
Panda/Thomas – Neither had much screen time and that was a shame, Pandora’s mum was hilarious, it’d be nice to have Thomas and Mrs Moon meet. Who wouldn’t love Thommo?
JJ – Let’s face it he needs a girlfriend. He doesn’t need to be in love with Effy, or fall for Emily, he just needs a girlfriend. Someone who likes magic, someone who doesn’t care that he’s got issues. Someone who just likes him for him. They don’t have to be a main character, just like Danny, a random person who appears once in a while throughout. But please let her not be the same as JJ just female, that’d be silly in my opinion.
Naomily – I too am scared about where they are going, but by the sounds of it it’s going to be more about their own personal journeys than their relationship, so here’s hoping for a Fitch showdown when Emily makes them believe her when she comes out. As for Naomi, I’d like to see her relationship with her mum developed more, why does she hate her so much? Maybe bring in Daddy Campbell (even though I’d imagine different surname?).

Katie – not used nearly enough last season. She NEEDS an episode for her, she needs her own storylines that are based on HER, not Freddie, not Emily, just Katie Fitch. She is so deep it’s untrue. The first time I saw her I thought that she was just a bitch, nothing more nothing less. But we began to see her vulnerable side and it wasn’t even watching the vulnerable side to Katie that made me like her, though it helped and set the ball rolling. It was all the discussions I’ve had about her character. She has so much to offer. I’d like to see some Naomi and Katie scenes, with Katie’s bitchiness and Naomi’s sarcasm, they would bring some comedy to the show. I’d imagine a love/hate relationship. I’d love her own personal journey – maybe bring up something from the past that she hasn’t even told Emily? Katie is very big on honesty and telling the truth, so maybe her reasons for that need exploring. She’s a very frightened and scared little girl deep down and it’s about time we know why. Plus some twinteraction surrounding a big secret would be fantastic. Part of me wants to see her get together with Cook…
Oh yeah and the odd extra characters – FITCH family rock, all of them, we need a family dinner with Naomily AND Gordon McPherson, that kid needs to be shown to us. James too of course. James, Gordon, Katie, Naomily and the Fitch rents together at the dinner table. Now that’s got to be a fun dinner. Now if she got together with Cook and he came, that would be one hell of a dinner party.
I like Naomi’s mum, wish we could know more about their relationship, I’m not too fussed about anyone else’s families. Karen was funny at times, but I’m not that bothered if we see her or not.
well i think another generation should be slowly introduced like er..cooks little brother from another mother and comes to live with him and his own group of friends who keep getting in trouble and we could see a responsible side of cook ONCE but still keep him reckless…his little brother/sister could be exactly like him or completely different like when its announced no-ones believes it
and effy and freddie are like water and oil THEY DO NOT GO i think it was just effy feeling something different and freddie getting something he couldnt have therefore i think freddie should have an affair because i think effy has caused enough damage for on series you know with the pregnancy and all..i think emily should finish by rejectting naiomi but i think tomas and pandora should going on a rocky road but stay together..oh yes and pandora become katies follower instead of effys
I enjoyed series 3 quite a bit, but I’m with everyone with ditching the love triangle (or … quadrilateral….?) because it’s getting quite frustrating to watch. I think Freddie and Effy belong together, they just seem to want each other more. Although, Freddie definitely needs to come out of his shell… we don’t really learn too much about his personality, except that he’s a nice guy. I’d love to see Tony come back for a while and help Effy with her mess (okay, got me… it’s an excuse to see Nicholas). Maybe introduce a new character… maybe a foreign exchange student? Canadian maybe ;D? I’d definitely like to see more ‘deepness’, let’s call it in series 4. Cassie was the main reason why I watched season 1 and 2. She had the best lines… that just made you think, y’know?
I think a few things should happen
1) someone will have to die. Maybe suicide? If so, not JJ, that would be too obvious. I think if there is one it should be one of the twins
2) PEOPLE BECOME FRIENDS RATHER THAN JUST SHAGGING ONE ANOTHER! Seriously, the only friendship made other than the “3 Musketeers” was Emily and JJ, but they ruined that with sex.
3) They can’t do pregnancy again so maybe… I dunno… AIDS? nah, but something along the lines maybe
I think it would be interesting if Effy had a cousin who came to stay with her for a while, making friends with all the gang. She should be quite pretty and really nice making all Effy’s friends like her. Effy should get jealous because she thinks that they like her cousin more. To make Effie’s jeoulsy worse, cook should fall for her cousin, then because Effy doesn’t want to her cousin to be with her ex she leaves Freddie to get back with cook. However, Effy doesn’t realize that her cousin likes Freddie and with Freddie feeling heartbroken and vulnerable it makes it easy for her cousin to get with him. Freddie then falls madly in love with her cousin leaving Effie upset, and cook is wondering why. Effy then turns to Katie for advise, without realizing she is still looking for payback. Is blackmail the answer for Katie…
i don’t agree with all the people that say series 3 ending was rubbish because if you think about it all they could of done is injure some one or kill some one off and that would of been copying series 1 and 2, and also seeing as series 1 and 2 were both sad endings i think it was time for a happy ending for once lol.
i was thinking of some things they could do for series 4 and one idea was that they could begin with a kind of spilit between the groups when they return from off the boat. Because emily Pandora and Thomas don’t like cook, and that group also don’t like effy because of the whole hitting katie with the rock thing plus freddie sleeping with effy when going out with katie it kind of seems like it is a split between the group with Effy, Cook and Freddie… and the other group being Emily, katie, naomi, pandora and Thomas with JJ kind of being the link between the two groups as he likes to try and stay friends with every one. Only reason that wouldn’t work is because each of them have their own episode so would maybe be hard to portray :/ but could defientley work for the first episode if it was everyone like last time.
and i was also thinking the same as the person up there that maybe effy might go to prison, because lets face it you can’t really hit someone with a rock and nothing happens to you lol
and thankyou for Cook i think COOK and CHRIS are the best skins characters for sure and i loved how cook now has chris’s old college room i only noticed the other day that on his wall it says Chris loves then a drawinf of a fish lol =)

I enjoyed series 3 but I feel there needs to be more diverse characters like Cassie introduced to the programme, I think there should be a character suffering a mental illness or maybe even a psychopath stirring up the whole situation! I thought it was great in series 2 when that girl had that obsession with Maxxie and something like that should be introduced. There is so many things which could happen in series 4 like JJ killing someone and trying to cover up the evidence- something like that. I think series 4 should bring a much darker side and that would make it a whole lot more interesting. ANOTHER thing, the whole of series 3 Effy was basically the girl who everyone loved, I think it would be good if they introduced a new ‘IT’ girl and then Effy would get all angry and jealous and she could plot against the ‘new girl’ in school….xx
Effy and Freddie work well. – make it a season with them working on being together (ie – lots of effy scared to be vulnerable moments etc.). Also, BRING FIRST CAST BACK for an episode.
wow… where to start…
my experience with skins started late on night on bbc… let me state that i am from the states… and did not think much of this show… glance away from my pc from time to time… and it took all of thirty seconds for me to say omg….
the first episode i saw was the second to last episode of season 2… cassie episode…
and i found my locked in and engaged from the moment it started… i was intruiged and confused but i continued to watch… tivo-ing as it was playing.. and later exposing it to a few friends that i knew….
knowing then that i had to see more i purchased season one and 2 and fell in love with everyone.. and i mean everyone (* cassie especially ) and began to connect with there stories, having empathy for where they were going and what they were doing.. i tore through both season in all of about 2 days.. no joke… i took work off and everything… and might i say it was a very satisfying experience….
left with many questions that needed to be answered i pursued season 3….

Series three was very different to one and two, don’t know if it was meant to be, but it was certainly a good different.
yes, a lot of things annoy me.
En mi opinion, right, Cook is a dick. A dick that you like really, but don’t want to like, everyone knows it. I was expecting something to happen to him at the end of the season like Tony, series 1, but realised it wouldn’t of been good, and obviously copying. But i would like to see a change in one of the characters, or more.
As the series progressed, Freddy got majorly annoying, (he was my fave at the start) and cook got even more annoying, Effy also annoyed me, and JJ became the best.
But aye, i’d like something DIFFERENT, that’s basically what i’m saying. The continuing story lines started to bore me after episode 6ish. I’d like more quirkyness, more laughs (katys boyfriend, danny i think, he was awesome) and more interesting storylines.
And many a new people to stir things up please.

Effy needs to be with Cook. The two characters work together and the whole thing with Freddy was just irritating. TBH i hated Freddy’s character…he was just boring and one dimensional to me. The whole bromance thing between the 3 guys was put in the middle of the whole show for everything else to revolve around and Effy (who should be in the middle) was kind of just on the side. I know a lot of you guys probly hate Cook and that’s why there needs to be some scenes where he reveals more of himself than his alcoholic behavior. JJ and Panda would be good together also if her and Thomas don’t work out, they’re both awkward and weird. All in all I thought this season really brought the Teen Angst but didnt really show in great detail why they are like that,

i agree that jj needs some love-and fast! perhaps he could meet someone in the physcological support centre-there’s defo a meet cute oppurtunity there! id hate to see the character reduced to a female version of jj. im thinking someone who’s a little darker than jj so she gets his whole rage thing. maybe a kleptomaniac but no one takes her seriously so the plot twist is, is she really sick or is all in her head???? hmmm!
also the music on skins is boss!!! love it!
Katy should have her own episode and also have a non-sexual male friendship with a character outside of the gang, to show softer aspects to her as a character and shows that she doesn’t see all men as boyfriend material or losers. It would be nice if Freddie was developed more into a agressive/erratic character rather than the mellow stoner we saw in series 3, maybe battle depression this series, this inturn leaves Effy the option to run away like she did in series 3 or actually grow up and become actually become a strong character rather than it being a front.
series 3 was a mix of series 1 and 2
episodes 1-4 were hilarious and basically a party in eache episode like series 1
but episodes 5-10 got a lot darker like series 2

I actually quite liked Effy + Freddie together, I thought Effy needed someone normal and genuine who evened out her own life and personality, and Freddie needed someone like Effy. I liked Freddie, too.
I loved the character of JJ- it was brilliant to bring in the serious aspect of autism and showing that in every day life. Yeah, I know a lot of people like skins when it’s all drugs and partying and fun, and I think yeah that is pretty okay, but bringing in some serious issues like drugs, mental disorders like Cassie’s anorexia last year is really effective, plus it taught people quite a lot, even if some of it was exagurated.
Naomi and Emily are brilliant, definately keep with that. A lot of others seem to like it too. The parents finding out would be great in the next series.
Pandora and Thomas were funny. Them, with the help of Cook and Katie I thought helped even out the more serious parts, which made it pretty good. Cook was really annoying.. awesome acting, though.

Katie all the way, I want her to have an episode only focused on her, not focused on the twin dynamics, yes they r sisters, but they r 2 different persons with different values. Effy should show everyone who is the boss, and the idea of the juvenile hall is interesting, but we shouldnt see her there, they should begin the season right after her come back, like orson in desperate housewives(shitty reference i know)
Pandora was the biggest disappointment of the season, it was all downhill from episode 7
i cant stand thomas, he acts like this great guy, he is so boring, so uninteresting
i would love to see karen more often, i was excited last season coz i thought she’d be leading season 5’s gang, but i discovered she’s like 20 or so…JJ should realize he’s not in love with effy, help cook out with studies, cook should act less like a jerk and go back to be the amazing fella he was in the first episode

Christ, what is it about everybody finding series three dissapointing?
Sure, the old characters were great, but the whole point of having a series three was to introduce new people and new storylines, so I think they did an effective job.
I found this series addicting, and once I started watching my nostalgia for the old episodes sort of evaporated.
First of all, about Effy. The centre of the whole series, for me. She’s just so elusive and enigmatic, but I must admit, could be a bit of a bitch at times. But that’s just her, kinda like her brother used to be.
I think that the ‘love triangle’ thing was a bit overrated, but only because I was annoyed with Cook’s involvement. He just basically ‘decided’ that Effy was his, when he is meant to be the sort of person that only cares for girls when he can get into their pants. On the other hand, it was interesting to see his vulnerable side, and I ended up feeling for him. Nevertheless, he needs to let Effy go.
I loved Freddie, and found it interesting that he wants to pursue Effy even though he knows she isn’t into letting people in and would rather just have fun. I don’t think he was an ‘angsty little prick’ to that much of an annoying degree, because if you think about it, who isn’t angsty about their love life? The writers were just trying to depict something that was true to life. JJ was a great character, and i realise it was somewhat necessary to depict him as socially retarded and weird, but this only made him all the more interesting in my opinion. He really needs someone to love him and his cool magic tricks (and I don’t see why noone wouldn’t want to be with him after seeing that cool fire-blowing thing!)
Also, having Effy fall for Freddie was one of the most interesting things about the whole series, basically because it was so unexpected. I’m not sure how I want their story to play out, but I think she needs to retain her personality whilst learning that being in a relationship and having someone ‘know her’ (eg Freddie) wouldn’t be the end of the world.
The Naomi and Emily storyline was great. I think the series was lovely because it put emphasis on the problems that everybody has without overplaying it by including cliche things like abuse and overdosing. By watching the episodes, I came to realise that each character had their own issues to deal with and sort out. For example, the skateboarding scenes in Freddie’s episode, the crying in the shower scene in Naomi’s episode, and the throwing up outside Freddie’s house and crying in the bath scenes in Effy’s episode. These really highlighted the character’s vulnerability and created empathy, and made me think about problems that ‘real’ people have. Our problems might seem small and insignificant to other people, but to us, they can encompass everything. I think series three really placed emphasis on this.
This is what T.V should do. Provide entertainment and escapism, whilst giving us something to think about, or possibly relate to. Skins achieves this, and I really hope they continue this in series four.
I don’t know if it’s too late to add any suggestions, but all i have to add is how awful it would be for Naomi to leave Emily for a guy. Skins goes for shock value, and that would not be shocking it would be predictable, mainstream and an easy way out. I love this pairing more than any other pair on TV at the moment (and for a long while), as do a lot of people, so I’m hoping they won’t be cast aside. It might be quite nice to see the tables turned, and Naomi realizing she’s equally in love with Emily. Maybe Emily could get another potential love interest to add some drama. Anyway, just to let you know I love series 3 of skins, and I disagree that it’s not up to season 1 and 2 standards.

I LOVE this series, i personally preferred it to the 1st and second series, but sadly, only because the Emily/Naomi relationship. what they have is good, keep them together, but with a few hiccups, also exploring emily and Naomi’s parents reaction, perhaps a big dramatic argument between emily and her family, ending in her running away?
I also feel that Freddie’s character is boring, he either needs to liven up or killed off, hes a good actor, just his character is a little….crap. I think katie should go completely phyco, perhaps Emiy would have to be the strong one for once?
effy and freddie should be in the honeymoon stage and fuck around whatever pretty much behind cooks back while she pretends shes not with either of them.. he’ll eventually find out and that will mess up the musketers again, cook should totally fall for like someone else super hot but totally out of his league. effy cheats on freddie because freddie wants them to be in a relationship and she can’t do it because of cook & just who she is.
tony and katie should totally get together because that would totally piss effy off. xD naomi and emily are obviously gonna have parent drama et cetera.

My first comment has to be that series one to three of skins has been a triumph for British television, creating a more true to life comedy drama that an audience can recognise and relate with. As a creative writing graduate and a aspiring scriptwriter I look up to this brilliant television programme.
What i would like to see in the future series is more conflict. I feel that Naomi and Emily’s relationship should not be easy, maybe them both having potentially destructing family problems due to their sexuality, particularly with Emily’s Mother. They could abandon her. Possibly Naomi could experiment with her sexuality a bit more, could lead to her sleeping with someone once (man or woman), making their relationship hard, sometimes love just isn’t enough. I feel that Naomi’s sexuality needs to be clarified to the audience. Is she a lesbian or bisexual? and has she truly come to terms with her new found sexual orientation?
As for Cook, Effy and Freddie, i feel that maybe it is time for Effy and Freddie to be together, possibly opening Effy up as it is something i feel this character wants to do. However maybe when Freddie has Effy he doesn’t want her anymore? it would be good to see Effy as a more vulnerable character, as soon as she lets her guard down someone forces her to put it back up. I definitely think the conflict with Cook and Freddie should continue, it is clear that Cook just wants to be loved, he could spiral deeply out of control to the point where people see that he is clearly messed up. As Cook is the type of character that could get away with anything maybe his boundaries could be pushed even further.
JJ is one of the warmest characters in the show, i feel he may start to struggle with his Aspergus syndrome more, maybe he could be possibly grow more of a back bone, a potential girlfriend i feel is what he needs, maybe someone needs something more in him, such as Katie who is his opposite but in a way is similar in her feelings of unrequited love. Katie could push the feelings away, possibly until the very last episode.
As for Pandora and Thomas, i feel there may need to be seperated again, possibly not through their own problems but maybe Thomas can’t forgive Pandora for sleeping with Cook no matter how hard he tries. Pandora seems to have a lot of growing up to do and she needs to be forced into it.
There are many things that have yet to be tackled on Skins such as suicide, rape, abuse, extreme drug addiction and alcohol dependency. I feel many of the characters could be involved in some of these issues and i feel that these could possibly be used in the future series.
Well it was always going to be a risk, wasn’t it, dumping most of the cast and starting up again. Series 3 had a lot to live up to. I think it did well considering the challenge.
The biggest problem was that the characters didn’t hang together well like they did in the first two series. Series one started with a gang of established friends, whereas series three started from the ground up and that was challenging. Also, series 1&2 were held together by Tony, Series one was all about tony being a self-absorbed prick controlling everyone, and series two was about Tony recovering from his accident. I think that was a reallly good way to hold things together. Then of course there was Maxxie and Anwar tensions to keep things interesting. And all the characters had their moment, as they do with their own episodes. But it was really all about Tony. And that worked.
I was really excited about series 3 because I LOVED Effy in S1&2 and figured she would pull things together like Tony did. And in a way she did. But like everyone else has said, the triangle was overdone and didn’t do justice to the characters. Anyway, so I felt like the audience was never really convinced of the legitimacy of the gang in series 3. It was like, they kind of met and then suddenly they were awkwardly hanging out all the time. There was nothing to glue them together. People have mentioned the Effy/Naomi link and I think if that had have been developed further it would have glued the gang together more.
I was really disappointed at the season 3 finale. I felt like it should have left us with all the characters but instead it just made big of the triangle again. Was a massive contrast to season 1 finale, which involved all the characters with that wonderful idea of Sid singing “wild world”. Brilliant!
I think season 4 can really go good places. It’s clear that Effy and Freddie are going to be together. Whether we like it or not. The writers have worked too hard to make it seem like they’re meant to be together not to do that. Another inevitability is that something is going to happen about Effy hitting Katie. So I think that the plot is going to revolve around that, and that gives a lot of room for character development of Effy/Katie, and of course Effy’s relationship with Naomi is going to develop which is going to cause concerns for Naomi’s relationship with Emily. Because Emily of course has to be loyal to her sister who was beaten up.
Of course the Effy/Katie confrontation was just the queen bee thing that started developing when they first met. I like that it blew up. It leaves them room in season 4 to sort that out.
No, I don’t think we need more characters, like Sketch in season 2. The reason Sketch had to be brought in was to do something new with Maxxie. But season 3 has enough characters that need extra developing and that can be done without a new character.
So season 3 was a challenge and in some ways failed and in others was quite good. I trust that the creators will learn from mistakes (there are some obvious themes in this thread) and go good places.
Oh and…. everyone’s right. We need to keep up the Naomily relationship integrity and not devalue it as a “phase”.
Loved the series 3 skins. First i’ve got to say i adored the Emily/Naomi storyline, It was obviously the favourite part for many people.
Personally i think that the writers should stick to the classic love story, two people fall in love then another person is thrown into the equation.
Perhaps a new character that has a thing for one of the girls, they don’t necessarily have to like the character back but it might make things more interesting.
Ooo what does Emily’s parents think and how are they going to deal with the fact that their precious daughter is gay!? I’m hoping that they won’t react well to it and that it will be a struggle but will have a positive ending that will give coming-out teens some support.
I also hope that the Twin’s brother will continue to annoy them, which many people across the world can relate to.
In the last series Naomi didn’t mention the fact that Emily slept with JJ which i found disappointing, does Naomi really forgive her? I’m sure she can get past it but i reckon it would be entertaining for fans to see the issue keep coming back.

I’m really looking forward to seeing what we get with th next series. I’d really like more of Katie, I think Meg is a fantastic actress and we never really got to see much of what she could do as Katie never really had a main storyline. More of Thomas and Panda! I can see a cute, funny relationship with them…Thomas accepting Panda’s oddness lol.
Agreeing with what’s been said…ABANDON THE LOVE TRIANGLE! Fix Effy! Make Freddie less boring now tht he isnt miserable pining over Effy lol maybe reign Cook in a bit! His OTT attitude got a bit much sometimes. Maybe show more friendships, especially th Naomi/Cook one…interesting. And how th group will fix what broke after th whole Love Triangle fiasco. JJ…not a big fan really but would like to see him get a girl! (NO MORE EMILY/JJ! PLEASE NO HAHA!)
And finally ah…Naomily! PLEASE KEEP THEM TOGETHER! It’d ruin what th whole series worked for, what they worked for, th writers etc. Dont have them cheating or throw in a boy seriously…would like a few people have said, destroy what there was and make it become a negative portrayal of a lesbian relationship rather than th positive one tht it is now! Th whole idea of th families is what I’d like to see. Naomi’s mum being totally accepting of Naomi’s sexuality and Emily’s being a complete bitch and not accepting it. Would be interesting to see how th two of them deal with tht and with such good actresses playing them, it’d be something really great. And maybe a bit of Katie…sticking up for Emily against their mum and stuff.

I liked Series 3. I was hooked but I felt that Thomas and Pandora were forgotten. Effy’s friendship with Pandora was forgotten, and Freddie was annoying. I think Effy and Cook are a lot better but to give it some juice, I think Cook and Katie should go out because the people they loved are now together. So it makes sense. Also, Katie wasn’t a big character either. The Love triangle got boring.
I didn’t know why emiy was such a jerk to JJ in her episode, it seemed weird that theyd be so close and yet she was a total bitch, not like her.
Tony should come back in Effy’s episode, maybe with Michelle or some other girl to “meet the parents” dinner and that contributes to a decision in effy’s life.. But he should make an appearance.
I don’t think people should die, more people should come in. maybe effy falls for another guy and freddie gets happy again. Naomi makes up her mind, JJ stops being cliche and acting like he’s so wise and knows everything. Anthea should pay more attention to Effy and their relationship should grow. Effy should be more of the fun girl but still maturing. cook should tone it down and become a little more serious but still maintain that fun side of him, just not the “ace of spades” and “drink myself to death” variety. pregancy is cliche and has been done, but STDs havent been done before, and neither has rape.
series 4 should pick up from series 3 and continue on. there should be more episodes that bring all the characters into the light so nobody is really forgotten. ooooo effy should be arrested for something and tony could come bail her out, idk. but its about time she got in toruble for all her stuff.

LOVE Naomily…it’s the main reason I watch.
I have to say that I definitely agree with bringing a new girl in the mix who is interested in Emily. NO CHEATING! and I don’t want Emily to be interested either….it would just be nice to see a jealous Naomi. In the last series we see poor Emily always pouring her heart out to Naomi. It would be nice to see Naomi take a stand & be protective of her girlfriend for once. Also, Naomi likes to show off her “bad girl, I don’t care what you think look* but never really shows it. Would love to see her knock a girl out who was trying to put a pass on Emily….hilarious.
Also, as much as I love the wonderful sex scenes between Naomi & Emily…it would be nice to see their emotional/sweet side with one another. Even if it’s simple like cuddling in Naomi’s bed in the morning, or holding hands in public…small things like that say A LOT.
You simply cannot ruin the Naomily relationship….they have enough problems to deal with like enduring all the harsh comments in school for being out, and Emily’s in-denial parents. I just hope Naomi doesn’t chicken out again because the show did such a great job at building their relationship.
It would be nice to have mama Campbell and Katie help support them.
It seems that every couple on Skins have to break-up because of a stupid reason like cheating….so since the writers have done such an amazing job at exploring Naomily’s relationship, I hope they stay true to that and keep them together!
firstly, don’t do to s4 what you did to s2..!
it was all so dark and sad, there was hardly any fun.
when it comes to s3 this whole cook/freddie/effy thing was just boring. at first it might have been ok, but in time freddie become so annoing.
effy shouldn’t be with anyone, she should be effy, effy-why-bother-caring-for-people effy, but if you’re so into getting her emotions out why don’t make her real good friends with jj? i really liked their scene in jj episode (’thanks for loving me. i’d like to be your friend’) it just felt right.
and here we come to emily and naomi (imo the best couple in skins ever).
YOU CAN NOT PUT SOME GUY BETWEEN THEM! that would totally destroied everything they’ve accomplished in s3. why don’t you just let them be together happily. there was never really a couple in the series that would be constantly in love, not breaking up and making up over and over.
and you could finnaly get naomi to show some loooove and proof her feeling for emily, whos been doing all the work so far really.
seeing them confronting people about they sexuality would be good. not only their parents, but other students and maybe teachers. they’ve gone public and the truth is there’s always someone who’ll do shit to them only couse their lesbians.
oh, and do not bring the old cast back. hell no.!!

FOCUS ON THEM
I think some of the characters from series 1 & 2 should make some sort of cameo appearance! For instance they could be coming back from university on holiday or something? Atleast Tony, since he still has ties to the show through Effy
Also, (this is just a minor note) but I think Effy needs to break the fourth wall and address the audience like she used to! Other than that, I generally agree with what everyone else said.
i think that all the characters in series 4 worked really well together and seem like a likely bunch of friends. after series three if theres a series 4 and if the same characters from series 3 come back then a new girl should be introduced to the show, someone more pretty than effy to push her off her pedestool? maybe she could be very pretty & seem sweet and innocent, and make effy seem like a bitcch! ..
i hated the love triangle between cook effy & freddie, it seems such a waste to keep turning them all against each other ..making them fall out .. getting back together & doing it all over again, when more attention could have been paid to emily&naomis realationship.
but, i do absaloutley love skins, such a good show ;D & i hope the same characters are back in series 3! (LL)

i would like my fave character jj to be more involved even falling in love with sketch from the second series who again starts to follow people such as freddie this could lead to effy having a massive row saying how she used to follow her brothers freind maxie then like with the first series she falls in love but with jj the others desert jj which leads to a mental breakdown and maybe even a drug overdeose which brings all the bonds back together jj then ditches sketch which leads to confrontations with her familys after a drunken party turns into a riot and sketch is lft fighting for her life ,this leads to further confrontation with katie and effy after she is blamed for causing the riot like the smash on the head but really it is katie who caused the riot after a one night stand with the citys drug dealer went wrong.Also i want emilys love with naomi to flourish and them to come out to there parentsw and maybe like someone else said the romeo and julliet thing going on .As for pana poop lol and thomas i would love to see them flourish i would love to see pandas mum to find out about drug use n blame thomas who arrempts suicide but is stopped by a new character who convinces him that he has done nothing wrong n this end with another confrontation with pandas mum .Cook should see his mum who is a mad obbsesive bear guzzling big head similar to cook which actually makes cook ashamed and makes himm realise his hate for his own behavior but he rebels too much and ends up beating his mum up and endind up with a crinimal record which makes him fall out with freddie who has no mum and wishes he can have a mum .One thing i want is loads of partys maybe another college trip like the russia one which was by far my fave skins episode and maybe an appearance or two from characters from the last series maybe maxie even give advice to emily and naomi
I think they should keep all the people from series 3 in but maybe see some of tony and add some new charecters 2 sereis 4 i think the third series is gd but that the first series was a tiny bit better they should add som new charecters in the 4th series not 2 many just one or 2 to keep the ball rolling i think cooks episode was so funny instead of mentioning people like anwar and sid they should make and appaerance or sommat cause tonys mom and dad broke up he should come and see them again

Personally I felt something that was lacking in season 3 was that there was no linking between the previous seasons and the new one. It felt much too detached from the original skins. Maybe cameos from the original cast, or some mention of previous storylines. It felt that Effy was not the same girl that was Tony’s sister, but was a completely different character.

series three was the best so far, by a long shot (Y)
Well, Naomi/Emily was definitely the highlight of the series for me. So as long as nothing outrageous happens to them (like, the Emily/JJ thing. I loved how it ended and I love JJ, but that just felt so wrong) and there’s still a happy ending for both of them (possibly separately, as long as they’re both realistic and happy, although I would definitely prefer they stay together) I will be mostly happy. However, touching on Naomi coming to terms with whatever-she-is, on Emily coming out to her family, on how they act in school and in public and all that would be things I would really appreciate. (and there wouldn’t have to be a love triangle! Again! Because well, I hated that love triangle in S3)
Now, I don’t think that Naomi/Emily should be the center of the show, no matter how much I would love it. I mean, it was quite clear that Effy was always supposed to be in the center. But, she sort of never was beyond the first two episodes and the last one. It was some sodden love triangle that revolved around Effy that was put in the middle with her, and in the end we still understood barely anything about Effy. Also, Effy and Freddie may have stared at each other for a few minutes in total, but they never did more than that, so I am really confused about how they could possibly “love” each other. If the next season focused on them exploring what it means to say that they love each other and all that, since they barely had any screentime just with each other through Season 3 that would be cool.
Also, Panda, Katie and Thomas need a serious amount of development. Panda and Thomas became a small-time storyline; there was so much potential in them. Katie gets a lot of screentime, but doesn’t seem to experience as much personal growth. She remains the same old snarky bitch up until the 9th episode.
Finally, I don’t actually want this cast to change, because the more characters there are the more confusing everything gets. (case: see Heroes by Tim Kring) But if you are going to introduce new characters, (or when you start Series 5) it would be so nice if there were some more multi-racial characters.
Oh, oh, put someone who is genderqueer on the show! Sorry that is not related to anything, I don’t even want to see it in S4, but in SOME series (S5?) a genderqueer character would be so great. A multi-racial genderqueer character would be even better.
I’d like see more Emilie&Naomi and the trio Effy, Freddie, Cook . However I think Cook was present so much in season 3 unlike other caracther like JJ and Katy.
I’ve watched the three seasons and the third’s my favorite. What I’d like more in the next one would be more Emily and Naomi… Looking at Cook’s family, a different point of vue of him, I’d like to see JJ being more self-confident maybe a girlfriend. How Katie lives now Emily came out of shadow, jealousy maybe? Her and her family face as the gay thing of Emily. Freddie and Effy’s relashionship evolution, but not again a love triangle. So that’s my P.O.V

Ok so im not a diehard skins fan,but when i watch them i fall in love with their characters!!
I mean these guys show what real teenagers go through in real life. They dont cut corners and pretend people are’in love’,they show the real ups and downs everyone goes through in relantionships. This is why i watch skins, its just so real and believable. Each character is so unique to themselves. While you watch them you can see the emotions they portray and as they act it out you are so intune as to what they are doing.You find yourself laughing along with them, or crying or just beaming when they finally take that leap and go in for the kiss…it does bring you back to expieriences in your own life and its interesting to see the choices they make, and sometimes you do also feel like making the choice for them!!!
It’s simple. Cook carried along the entire series. Without him it would have been nothing. So here’s what should happen in the next series. I think that Effie should be with Freddie still, but she should be cheating on him with Cook. A couple of people in the group know but say nothing. You should definately develop Freddie’s character more, as he was painfully boring. Actually, none of the characters were explored at all apart from Cook, Effie and JJ. They were all very 2D in my eyes. Explore them more. Also, they all need to be better friends. They all seemed to hate eachother and there’s no way they would be friends in the real world. Unlike the first 2 series where they all got along really well. Ultimately I think there should be a big climactic fight between Cook and Freddie, and Cook gets Effie in the end. It’s only right.
Also, I would love to have another song at the end of the series like series one!!! Series 2 AND Series 3 I was waiting for a song that didn’t come. That would be magic.
I know its proably been sed over and over, but as much as i loved series 3, i think it was lacking major friendships and sorta deepness if you get me… if was lieterally all about sex drugs and rock&roll, with JJ’s and Pandora’s epsidoe lightening the atmosphere a little untill more drugs were intorduced!! not that im sayin this was bad for the stody line, but i think it could be good to get a few strong bonds going you know… the characters need to settle into their lives a bit more…
Secondly, Naomily. It was a VERY good storyline and they developed nicely as a couple, but i think we now need ot see more development on naomi’s part, she needs to be wholely confident with their relationshp, even proud to admit to anyone that she Loves Emily =] but at the same time, we still need the passion between them as well as the lovey dovey extras that come with a relationship!! Dont whatever you do end their relationship, and if the road is as rocky as in s3, pleeeeease let them be together in the end!!!

I really liked Skins 3 and I understand why the cast was totally changed but I agree with many others that it is a real shame that the characters from Skins 1 and 2 have totally gone. Nothing in series 3 came close to the pathos, drama and emotion in the episode when Chris died. I still reel at the injustice of life!
I loved Cassie and Sid and it would be fantastic if the New York scenario was taken to another level. Even some cameo scenes would set my mind at rest!
My heart went out to Cassie so many times in series 1 and 2 because she was such a vulnerable character and nobody really understood her. Please put her and Sid in series 4, even it it’s only for a single episode
im gona make this fairly short and snappy so id like to start of by saying; what a great season by far my fave lily and kat are such great actors and made the whole Emily and Naomi storyline really come to live, i almost felt like i knew them personally as great friends. in series 4 id like to see their relationship be tested to teh limit, although they must not break up at any part in series 4 always together, id also like to see how their parents dealt with it ideally id like to see katie and mummy campbell lol defend protect and support naomi and emily, but instead have the Fitch parents revolt against there daughters and Naomis sexuality, one more thing i have to add about these two is that id like to see naomi really fight for Emilys love as in seriers 3 emilt did most of the hard work to be fair. oh ye one more thing no more cheating between those to especially bewteen emily and jj, as much as like the relationship they havee the idea of those to have intimate relationshins just felt very unnatural and forced and one last thing WE NEED MORE JAMES FITCH !!!! I personaly think there should be at least one moment in every episode when all the characters are together partying and getting into gnarly situations. I know its predictable but it really creates a feel good vibe and i found the episodes that didnt show all of them together where the least fullfiling. Obviously there is a huge buzz about the emily/naomi story line and quite rightly so, so showing them being happy together, gaining confidence about there recently outed sexuality and falling deaper in love would be a great thing to watch. Also it would be interesting to see katie become like emily used to be as an unconfident, overshadowed person, maybe getting into hard drugs as a consequence.
It would be amazing to see effy come back totally changed as a result of getting with freddy, i found it really irritating when she was rebelling against her parents and would have thought being a really head strong person she wouldnt have been as immature about it. Like in the first episode of series 3 when she immediatly notices emily being in the shadow of her sister and she says to herself ‘you hate her’ i loved the kind of tortured yet eligantly mysterious hidden genious about her character at the begiming and although i know skins wouldnt be skins without drama, i thought her character was turned into a bit of a joke. Although it was intentional, i began to strongly dislike her.and it didn’t feel good to watch.
As a 21 year old male i dont usually find myself obsessing mentaly about actresses and women in general, but i genuinely found myself infatuated with kathryn prescott, as are many people judging by the comments made on the internet. And dont get me wrong im not one of these internet loosers, i am an obsessed song writer and music producer, but i just found myself really obsessing over her and having repetative dreams about her, so i really do believe you hit in the nail on the head with casting, and probably could hit record ratings if series 4 only contained lily loveless and kathryn prescott through out. I very much look forward to seeing what you come up with for series 4 and wish you well with the production.
I loved the season 3 but I also have been disapointed by the end. We don’t know who Effy will choose and what will happen next, I was so frustrated !! In the season 4 I REALLY REALLY want Freddy and Effy to be together !! I don’t want her to be with Cook because they are just the same and they will destroy each other. I think Freddy is the best for Effy. I also would like to see some characters of the season 1 and 2 in the season 4 but I don’t think it’ll happen
But I really hope that Effy will not fall in love with Cook, please, it’ll be soooo bad ! I would like others characters to become a little bit more important particulary the twins and Naomi. But my two favourite characters are still Freddy and Effy and I want them to be together !! >.<

they might want to think about bringing back some old characters. maybe finally tell us what happened with sid and cassie, and how its going with anwar,maxxie and his bf. even if its just for a few minutes… when i heard that they might bring the old cast back for the third series i thought it might go down like this; everybodys gone except for sketch whos stayed with her mum so when she comes across the new cast she pretends shes friends with the old cast and makes them believe she was …. the ‘leader’ of the group almost… it made more sense in my head!
i can see the EmilyxNaomi thing getting boring very quickly if they are in a relationship in series 4,,, you could focus a bit on emilys family overcoming her sexuality and realising shes still their daughter.

its possible to do a plot on katie under pressure from trying to be the prettiest, a new girl could introduced whos more popular than her and maybe even bullies her so she confides in her sister and her new found confidence. emily could even be the popular girl because she feels so better for herself that shes not shy anymore
Hey i just wanted to say that little brother Fitch was brilliant and i reckon in Skins 4 his aim should be to annoy the crap outta Emily and Naomi (provided Mama Fitch will let Naomi in the house), lesbian jokes galore and personally i think Emily should kick the shit outta him each time he does it. Maybe Katie helps, just to establish that she’s OK with the girl’s relationship.

i just thought seeing as though katie had little screen time in seriers 3 in seriers 4 they should give her her own episode instead of having it emily/katie episode then with emily they shoudl pair her episode up with naomi,i think this woudl work exceedingly well if the writers choose to go down the path of telling parents and trying to deal with the way the parents take it expeccialy the fitch family.
All in all, i liked series 3, however, i felt it took a few episodes to get me “into” it if you know what i mean!

there were a few silly mistakes that someone should have picked up on that kinna bugged me like when Emily and Naomi are in the woods and Naomi asks “you alright?” and Emily goes “you know thats the first time you’ve asked me something?” and Naomi says “what? today?” and Emily goes “No, ever”…. but just a lil bit earlier in that episode Naomi asked her “what do lesbians do?” and “can we go somewhere”? oh and Emily and Katies house changed… in episode 6 the doorbell was on the left however in episode 9 the doorbell was on the right… lol… i really shouldn’t have noticed that, makes me sound sad, oh well! Oh and they forgot to put a beauty mark on Emilys face in the woods wit naomi too! N when she asked JJ did he tell anyone bot him n her n he said he told freddie n dat he told her she was gay however he already knew that coz JJ said she was gay in front of him and katie at freddies house!
I would really like JJ to be with someone, and in a weird way, would like it to be with Katie. I know it sounds weird, and completely random. But I would like to see her be with a nice guy, and the way she has been shooting him down over the series, it would be a nice contrast.
As for Effy, it would be interesting to see her character start off in prison. Angsty, but would be an interesting storyline. As for the freddie, cook, effy triangle. I am getting fed up with it aswell. It was just dragged along too long, and didnt seem to go anywhere. Would be nice to see Effy be in a proper relationship with a guy, not just looking for sex or whatever.
The Naomily storyline should stay intact. Im joking, but I love this couple, and it is the main reason I started watching Skins, and I believe that many people are in the same position. I think a little temptation for Emily would be good to see, maybe someone wanting her, and maybe cheating on Naomi. Or another example, I would like to see a little more of Naomi’s reaction to Emily and JJ sleeping together, as I feel this was sort of bipassed as Naomi found out. Maybe by Emily becoming pregnant, and having to deal with the pressure of abortion as well as her Relationship with Naomi and JJ. Also, Emily finding a good friend in Thomas would be nice, as she doesnt really have a friends besides Naomi.
A lot of the characters have their own tight little bonds with one or two of the other characters, so I think it would be a little random to have them starting to get close to someone else in the group, after a year of knowing them.

I’ve just finished the third season… OMG!!! I LOVE SKINS! And then i learned there was another season! That’s awesome! Okay… I think i have some ideas…
First, if we want a great season, it won’t work if all the characters are in relation ships… For exemple, Thomas and Pandora breake up, because Pandora has changed… She doesn’t want anymore to be the “idiot one” of the group, so she tries to become like… more beautiful, or something like that… And then Thomas doesn’t recognize her anymore…u see?
And, i’d like JJ with a new girl, out of the group…
Of course, there are many ideas for this season, but if all the characters change, spectators will be disapointed, so…
I’ll have to wait six monts to see skins again, that’s sad :S

I think season 3 had a general lack of depth…there weren’t many sad scenes like in 1+2 ..
I think it needs some more very sad+emotional moments,moments which go right under the skin,you know.
The good side of season 3 was that is was more funny than both the others!
Lots of humour is good,but the serious points shouldn’t go under.
I would like to see more of JJ,the twins and Pandora+Thomas.
JJ because he has not found his way yet,I would like to see more of these friendship scenes (like with Emily,that was so sweet).
The twins are feautured more,but I would to see more of Katie since she is “alone” too.
Also,more about Pandora! She should take in a bigger role ..maybe she could tell Effy more often her opinion? (Like going from useless too more intelligent than Effy)
Also,the three “best friends” do not seem like best friends at all ….Freddy cares about JJ a bit,but in the end,only JJ really cares about …more background please!

Although so far i have enjoyed the first and second series more than the thiird i think the cast of series three are actually better and have the potential to be really good, but the general strorylines have not been that great in series 3 lke they were in series 1 and 2. more needs to be seen of katies good side as she must have one as she was slightly becoming nicer to the end of the series and there must be more of emily and naomi as that is great acting. At times all of the characters annoy me apart from the twins as they are the best characters. Also how can we be sure that emily is gay as as she slept with jj. naomi seems far more like a lesbian than emily at times despite the fact that emily keeps admitting it.
It is the sort of programme that if someone told you abot it you would think it is rubbish, but it is done so well after watching it and is so addictive.
Defiantly keep Emily and Naomi together. Now that they are finally together and out to their friends, keep it fresh by showing the problems faced with being young and gay in modern Britain. Officially coming out to the parents would be good to see, maybe showing different reactions from Emily’s mum and dad then compared to Naomi’s mum. How the parents officially find out could be fun to see as well. I don’t think they should be any confusing brought in (like one of them falling for a guy). That has been done too many times on other shows, and it would be good to see a successful, stable, gay relationship portrayed to last, because it does happen in the real world, but never on a TV show.
I have just started doing marathon of series 3 last month. I just came across it via youtube and then I got hook!!!
Now I am planning to have the series 1 and 2 dvd’s and watch the first casts of this excellent show.
First thing to note though I really really love the music… very nice indeed. song choice excellence should continue on with series 4. hurray to the one who chooses these songs. Too bad I have heard these songs are not in dvd’s.
As per with everyone here, I am not really into the series 3 whole love triangle thing. though yeah it happens in real life its just that too much cliche.. would be funny if in the end effy will be with JJ… LOL! I mean JJ can be sweet you know and he really did care. Plus THAT would be a shock and of course will give JJ the confidence he needs what with Effy being always so sure of about everything. And remembering episode 1, both cook and freddie agrees that SHE WILL NEVER be interested in him so if a shocker is needed in series 4, that would be one.. haha.. because as much as Effy is my fave character the love triangle thing not that good for her.
more exposure for Katie, I think she has potential. She can be with Cook but I think they might clash. but who knows with great storyline it would grow.
Pandora and Thomas, I cant think of any suggestion for them right now. Maybe more exposure as well as the two of them did not quite stick to my memories that long last series.
Well of course we go to the phenomenal hit, Naomily. Well done for the storyline of both of them in series 3! hmm.. what to suggest for them. Yup definitely jealousy but NO CHEATING. enough of those obvious reasons. I believe there are a lot of issues on newly accepted homosexuality so explore it. But I agree with some of the suggestions that this time would be great to see Naomi to be the one to pursue.. I mean that is relationship right. It’s not always the other one having control. Maybe closeness of Effy to Emily? But of course Emily will not want her. I choose Effy because dont want to introduce another character to the group. Kind of too many already. So with this cant wait for series 4!!! Please bring back Effy power and stay put Naomily relationship.
And please make Freddie cooler AGAIN, love him during those first episodes.
think the fourth series needs to involve cook a bit more. in my opinion hes the best character on skins. without him it would be rubbish, less of freddie.. he is kinda boring. and i agree the love triangle needs to be ditched. and more of katie and emilly

I agree with most others, the love triangle thing got staler than biscotti about halfway through the season. It was a nice dynamic, however, it ran it’s course and should have been ditched. I don’t like Effy and Freddie together. Freddie’s character was just kind of…I don’t know. He didn’t turn out to be as cool as he appeared to be in the first episode and I don’t think their chemistry is good. Effy and Cook are a much better match as they are both troubled and insecure at their centers. I think I’d like to see them get back together in series4 which would allow further development of Cook’s character and also allow Effy’s character to go back to what she was instead of what she became cause I didn’t much care for her character at the end. Or maybe she could find someone in juvey which is where she should be going for bashing in someone’s head with a rock.
I’d like to see JJ continue to grow stronger and find someone to be with. He was a great character and I really liked how he developed throughout the series.
Katie was a great character and you get a sense that there is much more to her than what was shown. I’d like to see that developed more as most of the focus was on Emily.
As someone else said, these characters didn’t really seem to be friends. Sure, there was Cook, Freddie and JJ and Pandora and Effy but how did they all fit together? I’d like to see more cohesion in the next series.
Above all, most of the situations were kind of over the top. I don’t know about anyone else but my life isn’t really this crazy and it’s hard to relate to everything that was going on. Storylines are necessary but I think you can build them around character development to make everyone more real rather than just dreaming up as many insane, would never happen in real life situations as you can. Series 1 and 2 felt much more real.

I know this sounds weird but i think that JJ and Katie would make a cute couple. I know in the 9th episode Katie calls JJ a mong but i think that development with the characters would be quite sweet. I think the Emily and Naomi story had good acting but I couldn’t really connect with the characters and didn’t really feel sorry for naomi, however I did feel sorry for Emily and felt that because she had parents who were clearly homophobic I could better empiphise her situation more than Naomi, anyway Emily is by far the best looking girl on the show. I think the love triangle has to go between cook, effy and freddie. Effy really dissapointed me this series and i couldn’t care less if she went to prison for hitting Katie over the head with a rock. I really like Freddie and he was the one that i felt was the only one who was in the right when it came to the love triangle. Cook was funny in the first few episodes but when freddie and him started to hate each other he just became a retard who everybody hated. I’d like to see more going on with Naomi and Cook however because i thought at the end of Naomi’s episode i thought she admired him in some way when he said that he was not bothered about naomi not wanting to “Willy Waggle.” at the end of the episode. Thomas has to go, i would like to see him being hit by a train. His first episode was amazing! after that he became boring and quite an angry shit. I know he makes up with Pandora in the end and i guess i forgive for that but i just think he is a time waster when the writers of the series can’t think up anything to write for the other characters. I also think that more should be explained abourt the friedship of Emily and JJ because I thought it was really sweet when them had Sex and I think Emily getting into a proper relationship with him and she confronting her sexuality would be good, because many people have been saying that Naomi should confront her sexuality by falling in love with a guy just seems too conventional compared to it happening to emily. I think Skins series 3 was ace with good acting but skins series 4 has to tie up some loose endas made make it as great as series 1 and 2.

but there was just somthing missing
i didnt like the whole effy, cook, freddi love triangle i dont like cook thats just personal opinion, but he’s a good charicter i think effy and freddi should maybe be togetherbut have freddi coming out of his shell more he seemed to be abit boring asfter the first episode now maybe have it so hesnto looking after cook to muchand having fun of his own andmaybe cook looking after him sometimes, but you could also have it as this makes effy abit unsure about him because she loved him cause he loved her and wouldnt hurt her ect so if she has doubts about him hurting her, there could maybe be arguments ect

I just happened upon the Skin-dom, and for starters, I love the fact that British networks or any other countries besides the US, are not afraid or rather restricted from showing real life possibilities and situations.
Now I’ve read some of the input people have been posting and I do have to agree with what most of them mention about the “love triangle”. It did get a bit old, and had me at some parts rolling my eyes. Give one of them the strength to move on.
I’m not gonna lie, I absolutely love Emily and Naomi, and to be honest they are the whole reason I happened upon Skins in the first place. Its about time a same-sex relationship didn’t end in tragic or pathetic drama. But I do agree that Season 4 should test both Emily and Naomi’s relationship and maybe with a possible love interest for either of them, to see how they interact with the fruit of temptation. But I would still love to see them over come and stay together. As well as Emily coming out to her family and meeting other gays. Naomi, becoming more comfortable with the fact she loves another girl but is still torn and struggles with acceptance from her mother and society.
I think Katie should have more development, and I know she has a less arrogant, self absorbed side of her she doesn’t let show. And maybe now that Emily is finding her own grounds to stand on, show how Katie reacts to being more twin-less.
I adore Thomas, as well do I agree he should have a bigger defining part in Season 4. I know in, I believe Ep 4 at the Underground rave while hiding from the well dressed track suits, he hid on stage and even did his own thing and rapped a bit. Maybe he could start getting into that a bit more, or do it off and on and get noticed.
And lastly JJay should have his moment to shine a bit more then being forced to be the follower or the man in the middle.
JJ and Katie wud make a good couple because JJ needs a girl because he really deserves it and Katie would become less of a bitch if she went out with him!!!!!!

pandora and thomas, theyre really good, but maybe pandora could introduce him to her mum, cause shes against boyfriends, or maybe one of them could have an accident or get killed somhow, to have like a heart-breaking situation, or something like that.
JJ.. he should stay the same, hes a really good charactor, but maybe he could get a girlfriend/boyfriend, to make him happier, and him freddie and cook can be best friends again?
katie should have like a breakdown or something cause the only thing thats really happened to her is that she got hit with a rock and needs some more spotlight cause atm shes seen as a bitch and i dont really like her that much. but i think i could if i got to know her charactor a little better.

I think Effy or Cook should have a younger cousin come into the series but not too young age 14-15. I reckon if Effy Did have a younger cousin the cousin should perferably be a girl and be a trouble maker Like get into fights with older people Do drugs, Smokes and Drinks. Doesnt go to school and goes into Effys college. I reckon Effy should feel Intimidated by her or they don’t get along. But i think the cousin should have an ambition like dancing for instance but not Ballet or anything like that more Street and HipHop and thats the only thing that keeps her out of trouble.
With Freddy He wasent exciting he hasent been in series 3 at all. I think they need to bring him out of his shell. Cook I think should stay the way he is but get more off the story line.
I like the Way Katie is i reckon there should be more fights with her and Some of the Girl Main Characters. And Emily should definily be shown more and become more wild for on episode.
I did like series 3, it was a change from 1 and 2 with the characters in. The last episode of 3 was a bit of shame really. It wasnt as good as i thought it would be. It should of been a bit more exciting and should of made viewers cry! haha. Niaomi really did my head! I hope Emily messes her about by cheating on her in the 4th series! Cook should get a new lass and this will change him and the way he behaves. Effy will then realise what shes missing out. JJ should have a one night stand with pandora. Pandora finds out she is pregnant and doesnt know who the farther is. There should be a few more characters. For e.g JJ had a sister he never knew about, all the lads fancy her ‘the new Effy’. For the series to be a bit more excting there should be shocking/tragic death…….
I think you should keep Effy and Freddie together becuase they make a better couple than Effy & Cook, and it was good watching Effy and Freddie’s relationship develop in the series.
I don’t think Thomas was any good this series, he character was boring, plain and not interesting to watch.
The best episode was when they all went camping, becuase it had more depth to it, and I think there should be more episodes like that in series 4.
I loved Pandora, so I would like to see a bigger story lines for her aswell, because she was always chasing after Thomas and that got so boring aswell.

A girl for JJ would also be good, id also like to see JJ rising up abit and taking command but keep cook the same wild reckless way. thomas should definetly get a girl from outside the group aswell that would be a good story. keep emily and naomi like that but naomi should be more sure she lies emily whihc is what im thinking will happen because she was public about it in ep9. so theres some ides for new series.?

it would be a positive start to the new series to cut out the love triangle. perhaps having effy doing something completely unexpected – possibly even out of character – to give the series a fresh, unpredictable and animated start. i agree with some of the views about developing effy more as a character. at the moment, audiences views of effy is that she is promiscuous at times, mysterious yet wise and that she gets virtually whatever she wants. viewers want to see more of who she is and maybe understand more about why she acts promiscuously at times. something in the past? a bad experience? explanation is needed here. perhaps a bit more character development for freddie also as it seems at the moment he’s just a good-looking waste of space.
i personally would love to see cook fall head over heels for effy, or someone else, and go completely soft and change his cruel ways. as much as i love the bold character, it gets old quickly and it would be spectacular to see some more of the cook we saw in the finale where he is talking to his father about how desperate he is to keep effy and how much he cares for her.

I miss series 1 and 2 they where a real group of friends and if series four is going to be any good they need to become friends and series 3 wasnt the same in a way it wasnt realistic . But if they bring tony back for a bit in series 4 effy will go back to being more like she was in 1 and 2 which would be way better

My first big problem was the way effy changed in this series. In the earlier series, effy was a mysterious, everyone wants to be her kinda person and then in series three she was changed into this slutty, troublemaking bitch.
My second problem with the series was the way the new “group” weren’t even close freinds…THEY ALL HATED EACHOTHER, like all the time!!!!

In the first two series they had small characters that broke up the drama between the main characters (for example abigail, josh, kenneth etc) and although they didn’t really have main parts it made the series easier to watch because, in my opinion, the third season was all about effy, cook, freddie, JJ, naomi, katie, emily, panda and thomas and those people just get boring without some other relationships and conflicts. Bring in some secondary characters to make the storylines a bit different.

Pandora getting pregnant, making a good story line, due to the nature of her character being all sweet and her strict mother.

Thomas may getting involded with more dangerous gangsters, endangering his life

i think there needs to be more house parties and underground raves i would love to see more of emily and naomi aswell i think they have a good storyline and they should stay together. I think jj should get a girlfriend and stop having to choose between his friends he should stand up to them for once and i would like to know more about the characters such as their backgrounds, interests, ambitions etc. An unexpected pregnancy or something like that would be good more drugs, alcohol & sex. I think effy should have a dramatic storyline in this series. I did find the 3rd series a bit hard to follow at 1st because you didnt really see how they all became friends but i really like the new cast alot and would love to “get to know them ” more .
you know what i miss? Effy when she didn’t talk. I really did love the mystery surrounding her character and the fact that she was just so god darn cool. I thought it was really interesting in series 1 and 2 how she managed to have such a small role however her episode made such an impact on the other characters
for instance, how she managed to get Sid and Cassie to work out their problems without anyone REALLY noticing.

i loved series 3 but i think they need to go more into depth with freddie.i think they need to introduce someone new just like freddie for freddie so he can open up to her and explain his feelings to her because we know his mum died and he doesnt get on with his family and he does a lot of weed to get away from it but we dont know why he doesnt like his family. freddie + effy= disaster!!!!! this needs to change. i also think this series needs to be more like series 1 and 2 as in something new needs to happen every episode because in series 3 it was just the same thing over and over again. i just have to say i hate the charactor cook. he is a asbo wanting idiot and i hate him. i am hoping halfway through the series he gets alcohol poisoning and dies or something to give it more drama and get rid of him. i think we need to learn more about toms backround and i think they need to show peoples ambitions like in 1 and 2 maxxie was a dancer and jal played the claranet but in this cast they all just want to waste their lives away.

well first of all i loved skins series 3, i watched series 1 & 2 aswell so i was a bit worried and sad that the cast had changed but i finally got over it and sat down on the night of skins 3 first episode and forced myself to watch it 
and i fell in love with the cast, to be honest i like this cast better! i love naomi and emily and there story, and please for the love of god keep them together :O!! it took along time to get them together please dont ruine it in the 4th series i beg you haha, but anyway yeah i love every character actually it wouldnt be the same if you took one out 
. i would like to see more partys in the 4th series more realationship info on the naomily, finish off the cook story, get to know thomas pandora and katy a little more as there the ones who are hardly on screen and who i became a little dis-engaged from, but anyway skins 3 was amazing and im actually being really impatient about the 4th series i cant actually wait i just want to watch it now

series one and two of skins was very good… but i profered the characters from this season alot more… i do agree that there needed a more edgey story line towards the end of the season. but i did like the love trangle between effy, freedie and cook. so am glade that got done. defently need to c more of the twins. but all in all cant wait for a season 4 and i hope there defently is one.

anyway, i think freddie is being unfairly bitched out. i felt his character starting behaving more uptight as the series progress because of cooks spiralling behaviour. because its repeated through out the series that freddie cook and jj have been mates since they were little kids and you see freddie becoming more and more strained as cook acts worse and worse. freddie is clearly the ‘fixer’ of the three.
so for season for id like to see 1/cook explained character wise, and start behaving a bit better, thats not to say he stops drinking and sleeping around, but with some sort of a conscience
2/ with cook behaving it will freddie a chance to relax and enjoy himself, and specifically get a chance to show why he and effy are meant for each other(cos they are!!!!!)
3/ pandora and cook, i think it could be very interesting
4/ naomi and emily coming out will be more that enough strain for there relationship, especially when you imagine ems crazy parents
5/ katie has to own up to her part in the rock to the head incident, cos seriously she attacked someone who was clearly tripping, its was bound to end badly one way or another
6/ i wouuld like to see the group dynamics explored and explained, specifically the possibility of effy and naomi as good mates also possibly cook and naomi as mates
7/ why did thomas’ family leave ther village and move to the uk????
8/ also jj needs a fair go, wheres his support network, hes sweet and deserves something more
9/ i would just quietly like tony home for a bit to begin with atleast he and effy are supposed to be close , the start of the next season will see her really needing her big brothers support

I am really surprised with the fact that so many people want the triangle abolished, and personally I like that idea. Considering the fact that Series 3 ended in confusion, as of the triangle, I personally think that Effy should stay with Cook.
They suit each other much better than she would with Freddie, but I absolutely love the drama between the two. Plus, I think someone should die, it would sort of bring all the characters together instead of them always getting into arguments between each other.
Naomi and Emily should stay together, and continue on with their relationship. Personally I think there are alot of ideas that could be thrown in to the new series, but the one thing I definetely want to see is perhaps a battle for Effy, and Cook winning.

i think that freddi and cook need to sort themselfs out, and just become friends again like allways, i think that they should also settle their fued over effy also. Effy and Freddie, should be together for a while, but i dont think it should last and i think cook should just go back to fucking everything that moves, i rate panda should get pregnant, with Thomas’s baby, and they should face a difficult time together fighting through everything, and as for JJ, i think he should find a girl, and we should find out more on his background..
but what i pray for most is for Naomi’s and Emily’s relationship to work out, as that is what made skins’ but it was just so darn HOT aswell,
i think mostly thats why alot of people watched it, beacyse there ‘love story’ was so challenging, and i would honestly CRY my eyes out if they were over, i would atcually refuse to watch skins ever again.

skins 4 really needs to concentrate on pandora, thomas, and kate this season.. they were pushed to the background last season, i think mabey something drastic could happen to panda and thomas, and mabey katie doesnt look like a totall bitch anymore, by finding someone she loves, i think JJ would be an alright match for her, to keep her sane… or mabey not mabey someone new? but i defo know katie needs someone, to find herself unattached to emily, and leave emily with naomi, and i think they should NOT brake up, they fucking were best thing this series! the love story was just so perfect, they should defanitly stay together, but i think they should have a few bumps in the road testing there relationship..
has anyone seen the Series 4 tailer? well.. when emilys on top of that building, i think she should be about to jump, and then naomi saves her.. now that would be perfect.
we need to find out about cook’s family life, i know we got to find out about his dad, but we need to know why he’s living in a dorm at collage, wheres his mum? .. this is what we need to know.

I hope that in series four we get more insight into Naomi’s character, like learning about her past with her father and stuff along those lines.
Also. I want to see more Katie, because I really disliked her in series 3 but I feel like if her character was developed more I could become a fan, like if they showed a different side to her other than the bitch she acted like in most of the past episodes.
I also want to see more friendships developed between the characters, like Naomi/Effy, because at the end of series 3 it didn’t feel like a big happy group of friends, I hope that most of them can come together by the end of series 4 and be “whizzer chums”
I LOVE Naomi & Emily together, It’s so good to have a realistic relationship between two girls on a TV show, as it has helped many teenage girls (including me) who are confused or scared about their sexuality. I know things aren’t going to be all sunshine and happiness next series (because it’s Skins, obviously) but I hope that they will stay together.
And more Thomas, Pandora and JJ, because they didn’t get enough screen time. I want to see Pandora as more than just a character used for comic relief, because shes awesome really.
I don’t care so much about the love triangle, or any of the characters involved in it to be honest. I lost interest in Effy during season 3, probably because I found her storyline boring. Give her a better one next season! She has so much potential to be one of the most dynamic and interesting characters, if given the chance.
Honestly, I can’t fucking wait for series 4.

so i have recently watched all da seasons and am in love wif the new cast. 1 and 2 were so depressin! i love emily and naomi but afta watchin the trailer you can tell that it will start all peaches and cream but turn sour. it looks like naomi sleeps wif thomas so yea, is she gonna be straight by the end of the series??? will emily jump off da roof????

I absolutely have fallen in love with Cook! Freddie would just bore the hell out of Effy. I found the love triangle so captivating, the way Cook loves that girl makes me get goosebumps. I think effy should always be a drifter, not really warming to anyone in the group but perhaps finding an outsider that doesnt seem to fall for her instantly leading her to pine after someone for once.
But seriously I really am in love with Cook.
I think the idea of effy in prison for the start of series 4 is a good one

I found the last episode a big disapointment. At the end of the last two series, there was a big dramatic ending (like Tony getting run over and Chris dying) and I was sat watching the last episode of series three thinking, ‘What big, life changing event is going to happen?’, and then there was nothing. In my opinion there needs to be a big tragedy.
Well, there’s no doubt that overall skins is a truly brilliant series, though I will say that like most others, I didn’t find series 3 as enjoyable as the first two series, though not because of the cast. The main problem I felt was that there was very little real development of the characters, and much more focus on the storylines. As somebody above put, it felt like the characters revolved around the story, though the story should have evolved around them.
So, ideas for all the characters:
- PANDORA. Well, I think we all love Pandora, simply because she’s so dappy and doesn’t really know a lot about life, but she wants to. Hencewhile she does stupid things like get with cook and swallow the drugs meant for sniffing (bless her! =]). But now she and Tom are back together I’d like to see her gradually mature as she learns about life, but still retaining all that we love about her. This could be shown through her relationship with Tom, or perhaps through Effy, as I’m about to explain.
- EFFY. Well, firstly I don’t really care about her new relationship with Freddy. I don’t think anyone does. So let’s break them up. I’ll discuss how in Katy’s section. Broken up from Freddy, she could spiral into an even worse depression, bottling all her feelings up as she is wont to do. It could possibly start with an approaching court date; after all, she did smash Katy over the head with a brick. Pandora will do her best to cheer her up, but not in her usual dappy way (and this will start to show her maturity), but Effy simply won’t care.
Now, with Effy she always bottles everything up, so I would love her to just crack and go completely off the rails, destroying the whole mysterious thing. Perhaps an event could happen, maybe involving her parents that would be the final straw, or when she breaks up with Freddy. Then when Pandora comes round to cheer her up, she cracks and starts being completely mean to her for no reason, pointing out how pathetically immature Pandora is, causing Pandora to go off crying for comfort from Tom. Following from this, I’d like to see Effy be completely open about everything, telling everyone exactly what she wants and revealing how hurt she is. This could be shown in one episode, or throughout the whole series. Perhaps it could end in her tragic suicide. That would certainly be a better climax than last series’ letdown! =]
- THOMAS. Actually, this is the only character I don’t have thougths on. He’s simple but caring, utterly loving to Pandora and unlikely to cheat. It might be nice to learn even more about his background, though I’m not sure how. He’s just a nice calm person, so I’m not really sure how to introduce drama into him.
- KATY. Well as we did actually see in the penultimate episode, Katy really just wants people to love her, be it her sister or Freddy. I loved the twin scenario, it really showed off Katy’s insecurities. What with Emily + Naomi’s romance, she’s now probably feeling really insecure about herself, and would therefore look for somebody to be with. Eternally jealous of Effy + Freddy, she would of course be pressing charges on Effy whilst making her moves on Freddy, trying to split them apart. Freddy, since he loves Effy, would basically tell her to piss off, but if we add some sort of other strain on their relationship, they would break up. That’s them taken care of =] Now, Katy would be left wounded and rejected, so she might seek solace in Cook, who , though he doesn’t really care for her, is basically willing to shag anything. Their relationship/sexual meetings won’t last though, and because Cook is going to dump her for someone else (explained next) her jealousy will make her even more insecure.
- COOK. It’s really quite amazing that we still have so much sympathy for Cook, despite him being a twat at times. Firstly, I know I speak for everyone when I say I want his thing with Effy to be OVER. No-one liked the love triangle, and it hogged too much episode time. In S4, I would love to see more of his vulnerable side like we did in the last episode. Perhaps we could meet his mother, and that would cause some drama aswell as showing more of his vulnerability. Now, Cook being Cook, it’s completely unreasonable to expect him to not be having a lot of sex, even if there is some drama with his family. So he can then hook up with Katy. However, that won’t work long term because he will be pining after a NEW CHARACTER. I’m sorry, but it’s needed not only for this, but for JJ too. The new girl, who can suit JJ well (but not be too geeky either) will really make Cook like her, but she won’t think a thing about him. Even though she will be matched for JJ, she’ll also have a really strong personality, which will in turn allow JJ to grow into a stronger, more confident person. Not sure how this will end yet. Or perhaps he could just two time Katy with Freddy’s sister. Either way, something to make Katy insecure.
JJ – Oh hallelujah JJ. Now that JJ, Cook and Freddy are all friends again, he must be over the moon. Would like to see a nice happy scene between the 3 in the first episode. I think, just to really top his happiness off, it would be nice to see him with somebody else, the new character. Read above again for more of him. I know this JJ/Cook/New Girl story is weak, but it serves the purpose of developing JJ.
FREDDY – Ugh! At this moment in time, I don’t think anybody really likes Freddy. You really need to develop his character more, and you can do this by a) making him nicer to JJ. He was just an angry prick to him before, even Cook was fairer. b) dig deeper into how he lost his mother. I want to feel pain from him, so that sympathy is dragged from the viewers, making us like him again. c) When he breaks up with Effy, make it really painful for him, to drag even more sympathy, though not in a way so that we hate Effy.
EMILY – Now that Emily is finally `out` as a lesbian, it would be fun to see her tell her parents, and see how they react to it. Maybe she could do it with Naomi there, and it would be good to see her parents try to deny it, saying that she’s just impressionable, being the younger twin. Emily would of course get really angry at this, and she would need Naomi more than ever. Also, I’d like to see her and Katy grow close again, especially since Katy will now be feeling insecure about all the other stuff, she will need her twin sister more than ever.
NAOMI – Ah, my favourite =] I would like to see Naomi finally facing up to her sexuality. She would of course be facing tons of abuse at school, not that she’d care – her strong, unfazed nature will appeal to all the teens struggling with sexuality out there. She’s not the sort of person to cheat, but it would still be nice to see that she is still atrracted to men, and that could reveal itself to Emily somehow, which might put strain on their relationship, added to by the fact that even though Katy isn’t interfering anymore, she will naturally still be resentufl.
Okay, so that’s my ideas. You’ll notice I focused on the characters and what I wanted to see, rather than scenarios that could happen. I don’t know how to make this stuff happen, but I know it’s more important than the actual scenarios that allow it to happen. So there’s my ideas. If any of the people behind Skins do read this, please take my ideas into consideration, particularly those involving Effy. In my opinion, they’re the best.

I really loved series 3 it had many good story lines, i especially liked the pandoras sleepover episode and JJ’s episode as they were very enrertaining.
I have a few ideas for series 4 which i think many viewers would enjoy. As for Emily i think she should either split up with naomi or naomi leaves for a while and whilst shes away emily and jj realise they love each over or sumthing like that. So jj and emily end up going out and everythings great but then naomi comes back and finds out that there going out and shes heartbroken but emily doesnt realise and so then naomi starts self harming or commits suicide.
JJ and Cook both get screwed over so much in season 4. get everyone to think JJ is gonna kill himself then get cook to commit suicide. somehow work it that way, would be really interesting

Keith here from South Africa. The First two seasons were amazing, i have never seen anything like this before. The cast of the first two seasons pulled you in and made you feel like part of the group. The day i started watching ep.1 of sn.3 i wasnt too intersted in it because the cast from the first two seasons would not be there. With getting past the first episode it wasnt too bad. the problem is through out the 3rd season it was trying to fit too much into so little episodes. Either there has too be less characters or more episodes so we can get the whole story without missing out on anyones side of the series. Never the less ill still watch season 4 because i enjoyedskins from day one. Thanks for a great show.
i loved series 3 it was the best one so far i think. but the love triangle with effy, freddie and cook was just silly. but i love emily and noami i think they made series 3, more emily and noami.
series 1 + 2 of skins WAS amazing. a show like skins had never been made before, and everyone was shocked by the storylines that was given to us each week. however, the cast and new series are not skins , and never will be because they will always be compared with the first two series. i never thought effy was a character that could be given a main part in a series , but her dedicated episodes in the first two series were very interesting, and enjoyable because they gave you a break from the normal cast.
but people need to stop comparing the old cast with the new, and just think of them as two seperate shows. i loved the first cast, but i love the new cast for being so different and for showing us another side of the party.
although it probably would have worked better if the new cast were from another city, to show you how other teenagers in other places live their lives.
but anyway, i think for series 4 they should make cook stop being such a prat, and make him drift away from the group and maybe join a violent gang, which i think would be interesting seen as his charater is violent. i would also like to see tony return home for the holidays and see how he reacts with cook, and also maybe fixes some of effys issues. or maybe if sid come back from NY knocking on effys door looking for tony, then have an episode dedicated to sid ( he was my favourite character )
i think that the last series was good but i think in series four it would be really good to learn a bit more about cooks life at home and more about what really goes on in his life at home and what led him to become so off the rails x
I read about the first 20 posts and haven’t heard anyone say anything positive about series 3. Personally I think series 3 was by far the best. The acting was better and the situations were much more realistic to teenagers. Being in my early 20’s and growing up in the London suburbs I felt I could really relate to the characters and story lines. The first two series were over the top and slightly cringy. The third was much more developed and intelligently put together. The love triangle is a regular occurence in teenage friendships and effy is a strog character to be in the middle.
I think for series 4 (which I know has already been written) the storylines should be kept realistic like the third series. The show should be much more about letting teenagers relate than being shocking or overly extreme.
Everyone has their own opinion about each series and each individual character i think that so far series 1 2 and 3 have been good maybe some stuff in skins 3 did not have a point and would not have made a difference if those parts were there or not but overall the 3 series so far have been great but i just watched the first episode of series 4 last night and i was a bit disappointed because it should have carried on from the third series were at the end they were on the bought heading to somewhere different or at least told us what had happened in depth like series 1 going on to 2 Tony had to learn everything again and it was like carrying on series 4 just is a young girl dies at a club and thomas is a DJ or something them at school like a new year and that Effy has disappeared and then thomas meets a new girl these are some ideas that were input from posts above that fine but way way to much has been put in to the first episode so hopefully it will get better in to the year thank you for listening and just to say i will not stop watching skins even if it gets bad because i love it no matter what though i will be disappointed it doesn’t matter.
