Skins series one coming to DVD in America

A cross between Kids and Gossip Girl, Skins is an edgy Brit-teen drama which follows the lives and loves of shameless teenagers. They get high, get drunk, get laid and get up for final exams while pushing boundaries and managing parents with the finesse only teenagers can. Tony (Nicholas Hoult, About a Boy) is the best-looking boy in town. His sidekick Sid is less successful with the ladies, much less until bonkers anorexic case Cassie turns up. But Sid’s in love with Michelle, the school hottie, who goes out with Tony of course. Then there’s sassy musician Jal, party animal Chris, Maxxie and best mate Anwar, who manages to combine the pills, the thrills and the spills with his faith - well, sort of. Volume 1 contains the original 9-episode UK first season, on 3 discs packed with brand new unseen Skins material.

The BBC and Warner Home Video have announced that Skins - Volume 1 will arrive on DVD January 13th. It will contain 9 episodes (400 minutes) on 3 discs, plus extras to include include Video Diaries, ancillary storylines and more. Video will be anamorphic widescreen, and audio in English 2.0 Dolby. Cost is $39.98 SRP

Hiya guys

Am just writing to let everyone know I will update the site soon, I’ve just got a stupidly unreliable Internet connection at the moment here at uni. Hopefully this will be resolved by Monday next week.

Hiya guys,

I’m moving into my University accomodation at the end of this week and it’s all a bit nuts at the moment.

However once things have settled down a bit I’ll get back to regular posting. I’ve also got a few site updates in the works.

Oh and Hayley from Skins Online is on holiday at the moment as well so Skins news will be a bit quiet for a while.

Thanks for coming back everyone though, site traffic remains between 200 and 400 hits a day which is nice.

Dev Patel’s new film Slumdog Millionaire is out soon. Here is a video and some pictures of him in it and at various premieres:

Former ‘Skins’ Star Dev Patel (’Anwar’) is now playing a new role of Indian teen ‘Jamal Malik’ in the story of how a impoverished Indian teen became a contestant on the Hindi version of “Who Wants to be A Millionaire?” — an endeavor made without prize money in mind, rather, an effort to prove his love for his friend Latika (Pinto), who is an ardent fan of the show.
