Skins: the movie? [open thread]

This got posted earlier on e4.com

Is there a Skins movie on the cards? It’s very early days, but Film4 are in ‘preliminary talks’ about a Skins movie, which basically means that nothing has been agreed and it may or may not happen. But, let’s speculate anyway…

We already have a Hollywood star in the form of Dev, and Skins is already 48 minutes long (without ad breaks); and that simply isn’t long enough, judging by your comments (which we take as THE LAW). We can think of four successful TV spin offs recently: The Simpsons, South Park, In the Loop (from the hilarious In the Thick of It, featuring Sid’s dad as foul mouthed Malcolm Tucker, FACT) and Sex and the City; but two of those have were cartoons. And Sex and the City was rubbish. Hmmm.

What could happen in Skins: the Movie? And who would it feature? Would/should it still be based in Bristol? A mixture of the old gang and the series 3 gang or should it have ‘Hollywood’ faces? If so, who? Scarlet Johansson as Naomi or is the diminutive Miss Lily Loveless the only gal for the job?

Lets discuss

So yeah, after your fantastic answers to my question asking where you’d like to see Skins go in series 4, I’d love to see what would you want to see in the movie?

Kaya in her first film role

Kaya Scodelario is going to be making her film debut in a new movie called Moon she will be playing the role of Eve Bell, you can read a summary of what the movie’s about Here

Heres a nice quote I found about Kaya and she talks a little about the film at Screen Daily

It is a sign of her blossoming talent that Kaya Scodelario has graduated from minor character in the first two series of Channel 4’s teen series Skins to a lead. But if she is fazed by the transition, this 16- year-old does not show it. “It’s very exciting and a big responsibility, but I like pushing myself,” says the actor, who is shooting the series until November. That confidence got her noticed during her first audition two years ago. “She had a striking, photogenic look and a bubbly personality,” recalls Skins producer Chris Clough, “but also a mature outlook even at 14.” Scodelario has also completed Duncan Jones’ Moon, with Sam Rockwell. “It was a massive learning experience and showed me how different film is to TV,” she says.

Thanks to Alex at Skins Nation

P.S forgot to mention got SuperSuper Magazine through the door this morning, it has not just Kaya but Mitch Hewer and Joe Dempsie in the magazine, the only probs is it massive so don’t if it will fit my scanner, but I will find a way of getting it up.

Larissa and April to star in Tormented together

Two teen stars of Skins are set to appear in a spooky new film.

Larissa Wilson, who plays Lal in the hit series, and April Pearson, who plays Michelle, have been picked to star in forthcoming film Tormented.

Shooting has started on the film, which is set in a suburban grammar school, but the premise is a world away from the decadent setting of Skins.

The Birmingham-set film stars Alex Pettyfer, known for his role as Alex Rider in Stormbreaker, as a bullied teenager who comes back from the dead to take his revenge on his tormentors.

As the bullies settle into a charmed existence in their school sixth form, they are confronted by their victim, who comes back from suicide to get his own back by tormenting them.

Tormented is directed by experienced short film director Jon Wright and is written by Stephen Prentice.

It is being funded by BBC Films, Screen West Midlands and Slingshot, and will be distributed by Pathe.
