Calling all Skins fans…
Unless you’ve been stuck in the Big Brother house, or ‘finding yourself’ on some gap year or other, you may have noticed that Skins series II is just around the corner. And this year, there’s another way for you to fuel your addiction for all things Skins, with the Skins Podcast; or the ‘Skinscast’ as we’ve so cleverly called it.
Skinscast what?
The Skinscast is going to be for you, the dedicated, discerning Skins fans. It’s going to be so crammed with Skins stuff that we had to make up a new word and everything. Yes, it’s special alright. It’s going to delve into the episode you’ve just seen on your tellybox, and provide exclusive interviews with the Skins lot. We’ll be getting to know them a little bit better and finding out all the behind the scenes gossip and drama that you wouldn’t otherwise hear of.
This is how it’s going to work: each week once the episode has premiered on E4, you’ll be able to download the new podcast via E4.com. The podcast will discuss the episode you’ve just seen and delve deeper into the characters’ storyline.
As well as that, we’re going to be passing over the interview mic to you and getting you to ask the questions to the Skins cast. So you get to put the questions across to the cast that you really need answering. Like, how does Joe Dempsie (Chris) feel about his character getting his kit off on a regular basis? And who would Mike Bailey (Sid) say was his ideal woman – Hannah (Cassie) or April (Michelle)? Ok, maybe they’re just the questions we would like answering, but you get the gist.
This podcast is for you to become even more acquainted with Skins, and actually ask some of the questions yourself. For each question submitted you’ll be entered into a draw to win an exclusive prop stolen from the Skins set. These props are complete one-offs, so collectible that they’re vacuum packed - so get on with it and submit a question!
I want some of that!
For your chance to be heard on the podcast and be in with a chance of winning a prop, all you have to do is drop us an email at skins@e4.com, with the title ‘Skinscast question’, with your question and the following details:
Name
Date of birth
E-mail address
Phone number (so we can call you back and get your question recorded). If it’s easier, just copy and paste these fields into the email to make sure you’ve got everything covered.
Everyone who enters will be put forward for the draw, and you can submit as many questions as you would like – you don’t even have to have your question selected for the podcast to be entered for the draw. But to make this podcast as riveting as the show we suggest you ask the questions you know you’re going to want the answer to, and not just ‘what’s Maxxie’s favourite colour?’
Legal bit you need to read
The winner will be selected at random from all the entries and you will have 24 hours to respond to the notification you have won. If you do not respond then an alternative winner will be selected. We’re sorry but you must be over 18 to enter. Because you will be entered in the draw, you’ll need to take a look at our terms and conditions and privacy policy before you email. Because by sending that email, you’re accepting the terms of the privacy policy and agreeing with the terms and conditions.
The closing date for the first batch of questions will be Monday 17th February at midnight.

Chance 3/10
6) We can get involved with the show somehow (either be in S3) or something like that (and contrary to what they say, they will not be open about the auditions and such and leave it to chance to find out about them)
Chance 5/10
Can you think of any? If so email me them admin@skinsnation.co.uk and I will stick them on here.
According to the Skins Girls vs Rugby Boys article in The Mail on Sunday’s Live Magazine Skins will start back on 11th February on E4 and on 14th February on Channel 4.
This seems odd, firstly they didn’t broadcast Skins on C4 until the summer last year, so are they trying to maximize the audience this time around?
Secondly, what is going to take presendence on E4 now? Currently Shameless is on, which has is an extra long series because they managed to film in a studio this time and not on the street so were able to film more, also Big Brother is on as well (John to win, Liam should still be in there!) and then Reaper is also due to start, so I’m just wondering what is going to be the flag ship show?
Mitch (Maxxie) wasn’t 100% sure, but he was under the impression that it started week beginning 11th.
Source: A good natter on MSN with him (yes believe it or not, actors are “real” people).
Thanks to Hayley for this roundup.

Remember you must be 18 to enter!
Earlier Chris from the the show posted on the show’s blog:
“Oh my oh my, I’m one excited fella today. This morning I got to go see the first episode of Series 2 of Skins, which’ll be hitting your TV screens early Feb, and if that was not exciting enough I got to sit next to Mike who plays Sid in the show, and watch his every reaction.
All the cast were they, and none of them had seen it, so it was very weird seeing their first reactions to the show… and some very interesting reactions they were too. Yet I’m not going to give you all the goss now, tune in from 7 on Sunday to Switch with Annie Mac on Radio 1 and I’ll let rip on all the gossip about the first episode (while giving away as little as possible) what the cast thought of it, what they did while they watched it, and all that stuff.
If that’s not all I also got to speak to them all, so we’ll be playing interviews with Sid, Cassie, Michelle, Tony and all the guys from Skins over the next few weeks. Horrah!”

On the show just now they mentioned that they will be getting some of the cast into the studio over the next few weeks, also Skins starts on the second Tuesday of February! Chris also recorded some interviews which they’ll play next week and we’ll find out about their inter-Skins table football tournament lol.
The show is available on Listen Again on the BBC Radio 1 website so you can listen to the gossip there.
