Skins series one coming to DVD in America
- A cross between Kids and Gossip Girl, Skins is an edgy Brit-teen drama which follows the lives and loves of shameless teenagers. They get high, get drunk, get laid and get up for final exams while pushing boundaries and managing parents with the finesse only teenagers can. Tony (Nicholas Hoult, About a Boy) is the best-looking boy in town. His sidekick Sid is less successful with the ladies, much less until bonkers anorexic case Cassie turns up. But Sid’s in love with Michelle, the school hottie, who goes out with Tony of course. Then there’s sassy musician Jal, party animal Chris, Maxxie and best mate Anwar, who manages to combine the pills, the thrills and the spills with his faith - well, sort of. Volume 1 contains the original 9-episode UK first season, on 3 discs packed with brand new unseen Skins material.
The BBC and Warner Home Video have announced that Skins - Volume 1 will arrive on DVD January 13th. It will contain 9 episodes (400 minutes) on 3 discs, plus extras to include include Video Diaries, ancillary storylines and more. Video will be anamorphic widescreen, and audio in English 2.0 Dolby. Cost is $39.98 SRP

It’s been six months since Tony’s collision with a bus – remarkably he isn’t dead, but he sure isn’t the same person. Sid can’t get his head around the fact that his best mate is a shadow of the man he’s always looked up to. And to top it off he finally got the girl, Cassie, only to have her whisked off to Scotland. Sod’s law. But to Cassie it’s totally OK, one day she’ll come back and they’ll live happily ever after - yeah right.
Michelle is lost without Tony too, and her Mum has gone and married yet another man – but this time there’s a step-sister involved who’s intent on trying to make a move on her mates. Maxxie’s got hell at home too because his Dad doesn’t want him to follow his dream of being a dancer. Even Anwar has changed since he bagged himself a secret girlfriend called Sketch. Jal is throwing off the good girl image and letting her hair down. And Chris – well getting expelled wasn’t his finest hour – but now the party animal is stepping out on his own. And while all around is falling apart, it’s Tony’s little sister Effy who’s taking control.

Following the lives and loves of a group of hard-partying Bristol teenagers, this series features more of the same chaos, drama and confusion which kept viewers begging for more.
Picking up six months later from where the first series left off, we discover that Tony’s (Nicholas Hoult) collision with a bus has dramatically altered his personality. So much so, that Sid (Mike Bailey) can’t quite get his head round the fact that the man he has always looked up to is now a shadow of his former self. And to add extra fuel to the fire Cassie (Hannah Murray) is whisked away to Scotland by her crazy parents, just when he finally thought he had the girl.
Without Tony around, Michelle (April Pearson) is lost and doesn’t know what to do when her Mum remarries again, but this time there’s a step-sister to contend with who is determined on making a move on her mates. While at Maxxie’s (Mitch Hewer) house all hell is breaking loose as his Dad (Bill Bailey) is determined to stop him following his dream of being a dancer.
Even Anwar (Dev Patel) has changed since he bagged himself a secret girlfriend called Sketch (Aimee-Ffion Edwards). Jal (Larissa Wilson) is throwing off the good girl image and letting her hair down. And Chris (Joe Dempsie) – well getting expelled wasn’t his finest hour – but now the party animal is stepping out on his own. And while all around is falling apart, it’s Tony’s little sister Effy (Kaya Scodelario) who’s taking control.
Series two features a host of new guest appearances including Shane Richie, Bill Bailey and Josie Long. These join returning guest stars Harry Enfield, Arabella Weir, Geoffrey Hughes, Josie Lawrence and Peter Capaldi.

My requests:
1) Can Channel 4 please pay to include all of the brilliant music that is in each episode? The makers couldn’t afford to include it all last series.
2) Some more backstage videos. I personally found the crew blogs really interesting and I’m sure there was plenty of out-take shots and backstage videos - much like the trailer behind the scenes video.
