Skins Audition Script

So yeah I can’t believe it either but I’ve just tidied my bedroom off my own back. Yeah that’s right, Mother didn’t ask me to. I’m actually that bored now that I’ve finished school for good that I’m resorting to this low, low level.

However I did manage to find the script that the auditionees used at the London Skins Party auditions from Toby’s camera bag.

Skins III - Freddie

Int. Skate Shop. Day

FREDDIE, (16), a gangling,shy, stoned boy with hair covering his face is browsing, looking at the different boards. He looks carefully at the garish designs.

A COOL SHOP ASSISTANT appears at his shoulder.

FREDDIE looks at BOARD with a huge, colourful VOLCOM logo on it.

 

COOL SHOP ASSISTANT -  That one’s the bollocks, mate. The bollocks. You a boarder?

 

FREDDIE - Yeah. No. Yeah.. No. No. (pause). Yeah.

 

COOL SHOP ASSISTANT - I cant tell you’re a boarder. This is the one for you.

 

He thrusts the BOARD into FREDDIE’s arms. FREDDIE looks at it doubtfully.

 

FREDDIE - Yeah, um. The thing is… er, is there, is there like, one, with… one with… one that doesn’t look like complete shit?

 

COOL SHOP ASSISTANT is flabbergasted.

 

FREDDIE (cont’d) - Yeah I think I want one that doesn’t look like complete shit.

 

(pause)

 

FREDDIE (cont’d) - Actually, is there one that doesn’t have any logos of designs or patterns or anything really, really rubbish on it?

 

COOL SHOP ASSISTANT (horrified) - A blank one? With no logos?

 

FREDDIE - Yeah, i think I sort of want to just ride it.. not, you know, look at it. And stuff.

 

COOL SHOP ASSISTANT - No. There are no blank ones.

 

FREDDIE - Oh right. Cool. Ok. Um. Can you, sort of… like… not be here anymore?

 

The COOL SHOP ASSISTANT is too confused to move.

 

FREDDIE (cont’d) - Yeah. Cause I think I think you’re a wanker and I don’t want to talk to you anymore.

 

FREDDIE smiles sweetly. The COOL SHOP ASSISTANT walks away.

FREDDIE looks at the BOARD again and starts softly humming the ‘Blackadder’ theme tune to himself.

SkinsLife.com’s Favourite Auditions

I remember sitting around at the London gig in the "quiet" room watching the auditions, it was quite interesting until I got distracted by my friend Rachael poking me in the side to point out that Mitch Hewer had just sat down next to us. Ah… good times. Toby if you read this, did you ever find that picture on your camera of Mitch and I that Tomek took?

Skins Series Three: New Characters

Skinslife.com have just announced some of the new characters in Series Three. Some of these we found out about in London a fortnight ago, and you’ll be able to read the full interview hopefully in the next week (once my "15 hour" art exam is over and I’m fully recovered) which will reveal some facts about them.

Increase Your Audition Performance UPDATED

I’ve just found out that those of you who have bought a Skins Live ticket and are hoping to audition for Skins are now able to send in a video audition to the email address specified in your confirmation email.

This is a brilliant opportunity because it means you can have as many practices as you want and do a really strong performance, as apposed to turning up to a gig, having to wait till 11pm at night (or whenever your call time is) and getting all worried and spoiling your fun.

Just to clarify this is for those of you who have bought tickets for the Skins Live parties only.

The State of Auditions

Aagh I’ve had almost 60 emails over the weekend about auditions, so I’ve just rung Toby from www.skinslife.com to find out what exactly is happening.

At present the only other auditions are the ones at the Skins Parties which you must be 18+ to attend.

The remaining parties are:

Norwich - this Thursday (24th April)

Liverpool - this Friday (25th April)

London - this Saturday (26th April) - aagh I can’t wait

Glasgow - May 2nd

Birmingham - May 15th

 

THERE ARE NO OTHER OPEN AUDITIONS PLANNED.

If you are unable to attend the parties due to age or whatever then it’s kinda tough, sorry, but if you really wanted it that badly you would have made it down to the London or Bristol auditions.

Dedication. [rant]

These auditions are really starting to bug me. I personally have got no aspirations to act, I prefer to get my kicks backstage setting up lighting, laying hundreds of metres of sound cables and trying to work out why your brand new shiny DMX smoke machine isn’t working ( it wasn’t turned on )

I’ve had sooo many emails concerning these auditions with people giving reasons why they can’t get to an audition and pondering whether or not to ask the SkinsLife guys if they can have a private audition.

In my opinion if you REALLY want to get a part in something EVERYTHING else gets second place whether it is school (unless you’ve got something important like an exam), your clarinet lesson, or whatever.

They aren’t going to make themselves any more available to you, they’ve given you a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to the auditions this week and if it really means that much to you you will have got on a train from Scotland, a plane from Ireland or whatever from Liverpool regardless.

Another thing, in my opinion having a predicted A in drama GCSE or whatever means dick. You can either act as required or you can’t. If I was the one putting out a casting call and you told me that you’d just got a B in your latest test I really couldn’t care less you’re just wasting my time.

I wouldn’t dream of applying for a job at Google or wherever just because I can write my own code. Until now I’ve not done anything major that sets me apart from any other web developer. Yeah I can write javascript and PHP without having to reference every function every minute but so what.

Hopefully some more of you will see this.

3000 Audition Yesterday

Around 3,000 hopefuls have turned out to audition for the third series of Skins.

Executive producer Bryan Elsley announced last month that the show’s entire cast will change for the next season.

Teenagers aged 16 and 17 showed up at Parliament Hill School in North-West London today as casting scouts searched for the next stars of the hit E4 drama.
Tony’s younger sister Effy (Kaya Scodelario) will be the only existing cast member to appear in the third series next year.

She said: "I’m very excited to work with some new people and see how the show changes. But I think it’s good to have a fresh start. Because people do move on, people do leave. So, it’s great that they’re doing it. It’s different as well. It’s very exciting."

Producers are looking for identical twin girls, an Eastern European and a "nasty piece of work" for the new cast.

So series two may be over but I’m not going anywhere!
