These auditions are really starting to bug me. I personally have got no aspirations to act, I prefer to get my kicks backstage setting up lighting, laying hundreds of metres of sound cables and trying to work out why your brand new shiny DMX smoke machine isn’t working ( it wasn’t turned on 
)
I’ve had sooo many emails concerning these auditions with people giving reasons why they can’t get to an audition and pondering whether or not to ask the SkinsLife guys if they can have a private audition.
In my opinion if you REALLY want to get a part in something EVERYTHING else gets second place whether it is school (unless you’ve got something important like an exam), your clarinet lesson, or whatever.
They aren’t going to make themselves any more available to you, they’ve given you a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to the auditions this week and if it really means that much to you you will have got on a train from Scotland, a plane from Ireland or whatever from Liverpool regardless.
Another thing, in my opinion having a predicted A in drama GCSE or whatever means dick. You can either act as required or you can’t. If I was the one putting out a casting call and you told me that you’d just got a B in your latest test I really couldn’t care less you’re just wasting my time.
I wouldn’t dream of applying for a job at Google or wherever just because I can write my own code. Until now I’ve not done anything major that sets me apart from any other web developer. Yeah I can write javascript and PHP without having to reference every function every minute but so what.

Absolutely. Just paid for our son to get from Scotland to London for the auditions. They may come to Scotland, but then again they may not. That isn’t really the point. The opportunity is there and it has to be grabbed. OK, the chances may be slim, but anyone who wants to get into acting has to mean it. And I should add that by the sounds of it a massive number of people who went along were Big Brother type wannabees - they seem to forget that whilst Skins appeals to a certain audience (although I am probably almost 30 years over that target audience and consider it essential viewing) it is a drama and necessitates acting ability amongst its cast!
