Here some old news but i thought i’ll post anyway.
Angela Jain, Head of E4I have only been in the job a month so it’s still early days.
The mixture of acquisitions, Big Brother and origination has been very successful and has allowed E4 to establish itself and flourish in an overcrowded marketplace.
The stand out hit, Skins has most clearly demonstrated what can happen if you have a fantastic, original and brilliant series supported by innovative and clever marketing. We don’t need another Skins because we have Skins 2 around the corner but it would be great to learn from that experience and create and commission programmes that genuine reflect and talk to our audience. These can be aspirational, these can be reflective but what they must have in common is that they are unashamedly for our core 16-34 audience.
For the moment we are concentrating all our commissions in drama, comedy and entertainment and factual entertainment. There is no reason for that to change except that some genres may come higher into the mix. We have around the corner, Fonejacker, starting on 5th July, a from the heart scripted comedy and several factual entertainment series.
I think the common thread that should run through the commissions is entertaining, well-produced and original programming. Think of E4 as Channel 4’s cheeky and mischievous little sister. I will update this in the next few months when I have more guiding principles I can share.

Tearaway teens drama Skins is making a comeback – on MySpace.
Channel 4 have filmed a 10-minute special for the social networking site, which will go live in August.
Skins, which went out on E4 earlier this year and generally impressed the critics, has been quick to exploit the power of the web. The show’s MySpace profile has signed up more than 55,000 community members and allows viewers to download Skins-related songs and trailers.
To tie in with the special – which goes live on August 17 – Channel 4 is also inviting viewers to party with the cast members after filming wraps. The shoot and party will take place at “a secret location in Bristol” on August 2. For more information on how to win tickets to the event, click on this link.
Says E4 boss, Angela Jain: “The special will give audiences another unique Skins experience and a taste of what to expect from the hotly anticipated second series.”
Series two of Skins is now in production and due to air on E4 in the new year, while series one will be repeated on C4 from August 21. The cast are also appearing at T4 on the Beach on Sunday 22 July.
This was myspace bulletin post my skins myspace, they confirmed that the following cast will be at the T4 on the Beach which takes place this Sunday.
The cast who will be there are: Nicholas Hoult, Mike Bailey, Joe
Dempsie, Dev Patel, Mitch Hewer, April Pearson and Larissa Wilson.

5.30pm on E4)

DJ Competition
For your chance to be on stage at the Skins party send us in a list of the 15 tracks you would play to get the crowd going. We also need to hear you in action so send us a link to one of your mixes on your Myspace as well as details of any sets you’ve played before and where. Skins Secret Party DJ Competition – Terms & Conditions
1) Open to residents of the UK aged 18 and over. Please note that photo ID (passport, driving licence or PASS accredited proof of age card*) will be requested from winners and their guests on entry as proof of age and identification.
2) The closing date for entries to the DJ competition is 5pm on Friday 27th July. Competition entries (including name, age, address, mobile number, My Space links, tracklisting, experience and 50 words on why they want to play) must be sent by email to dj@skinssecretparty.co.uk
3) The prize is for one winner to play a DJ set at the the Skins Secret Party in a Bristol location on 2nd August. The winner is permitted to bring one guest to the party. The location is secret and will be confirmed to the winners only.
4) The winning DJ will be required to use either Twin CD or Vinyl decks provided by the venue. Further equipment requirements can be discussed with the event organisers, but cannot be guaranteed. A pre-prepared mp3 playlist will not be accepted as the DJ set at the event.
5) The winner must arrive at a Bristol location by 2pm (the location will be specified in the winners’ instructions) and the event will finish by 9pm.
6) The Winners and their guest are responsible for their own travel to and from the event; no travel or accommodation is included in the prize.
7) Tickets are allocated to the selected winner only and may not be transferred or sold. Identification (Passport, driving license or PASS accredited proof of age a card) matching the name on the e-invite and centrally controlled guest list will be required (this applies to both the winner and their guest).

9) The winners will be contacted by phone by midday on Monday 30th July and must confirm that they are able to play at the event within 24 hours of being contacted. If they have not confirmed attendance within 24 hours, another winner may be chosen and notified.
10) Channel 4 reserves the right not to select a winner for the competition if the standard is not deemed to be sufficient.
11) No responsibility is accepted for late or lost email invites or late or lost RSVPs.
12) Filming waiver: Winners and their guests agree to be filmed, recorded and photographed at the event for press and publicity, [a live feed] and a special Skins film (”the Film”). You and your guest(s) irrevocably consent to all still and motion picture and soundtrack recordings which

15) No professional camera or video equipment (except those individuals authorized by Channel 4) may be used at the event and will be confiscated.
16) Channel 4 reserves the right to refuse entry to the event.
17) Channel 4 reserves the right to cancel the event at any time for any reason but will use reasonable endeavours to give reasonable notice of this to winners

Design a projection for the Skins party
We have an excellent light show planned for the party, with projectors and everything. But we don’t have anything to project… yet. This is where you come in. We need talented designers to create backdrops to the party.
1st prize. VIP entry for two. Your designs may be projected at the party and feature on the official website.
Runners up. A runner up will receive a pair of tickets and their designs may be projected at the party.

Design us some tasty images. You can do it digitally, typographically, use hand drawings – anything! Just ensure that all graphics are entirely original and created by you (no stealing other people’s work, even if it’s just a small element of your finished image). All the best entries will be projected at the party and feature on this website.
We accept jpg, eps and gif file formats.
* > Remember to include your name, age, address, email address and telephone number with your entry.
